What are the key changes?
The BetStars/PokerStars mobile client offers access to three separate sites. PokerStars, PokerStars Casino and BetStars (which is the site we are most concerned with). The new client software download has upgraded aspects of all three sites.
PokerStars
On PokerStars, the biggest change is the introduction of a new style of poker game. This is called “KO Poker” and it is a similar game to that which is available currently on Sky Poker called “Bounty Hunter” games.
This is a game where players earn a bounty for knocking out another player. Half of the players buy in is placed in the pot for the place prizes, while the remaining half is placed on the players head as their bounty. When a player is eliminated, the player that knocks them out receives their bounty as a cash reward.
Additionally, there is now a $100 Spin & Go game available, where it is possible to win up to $1,000,000 if you can win the game and the spinner at the start of the game hits the biggest prize. Spin & Go is very much the same as Bet365 Poker’s Twister Poker game.
PokerStars Casino
The number of games available at PokerStars Casino has also been increased with this new upgrade. There are now a whole host of new slots you can play on the site including the following

BetStars
There hasn’t been a huge amount of change in terms of what is available at BetStars, although it is notable that the Tennis Free Bet offer that was on the site has now expired and is no longer available (although you can still take advantage of the Baseball free bet offer through until the end of May).
In truth, BetStars has been slowly built up over the past 18 months or so with improvements and enhancements rolled out almost continuously over this time, so it would be surprising if the owners had rolled out a mass of new changes with this new update last week.
What has been notable however is that BetStars is now having an increased television presence across the UK. Alongside the likes of Bet365 Sport and SkyBet, who are both bookmakers who frequently advertise before and during big sports events, so too BetStars are now championing their Spin & Bet service, which offers the chance to increase your potential payout between 1x to 10x the original odds.
The addition of a Horse Racing betting service certainly made the BetStars service far more appealing to the typical UK Punter and the improvements made to the In Play betting service, as well as the formulation of a number of promotional offers, particularly around football, have made BetStars one of the most improved sites in recent times.
The new upgrade has certainly improved the options available at PokerStars and PokerStars Casino, while BetStars has continued to be improved, added to and tweaked over the past 18 months. Between them, they provide a great value option for a UK punter that also enjoys Poker and Casino gaming.
