Let’s Go Golf Fans! This Year’s US PGA Is Right Around The Corner

2023 US PGA Preview

Ah golf. It’s a great sport, isn’t it? A load of lads and ladies standing around with sticks, walking slowly, hitting little white balls. Relaxing. Or is it? Once you know more about golf, it can actually be pretty nailbiting stuff. And that’s what we think is in store in just a few short months. Read this 2023 US PGA preview and you’ll see what we mean…

2023 US PGA preview

The 2022 US PGA was a riot of action and drama. And we were glued to the whole thing. We’re delighted to say that we think this year’s event is going to be just as exciting. In our 2023 US PGA you’re going to learn exactly why.

The Championship is teeing off on 18 May this year, and runs for four days in the gorgeous surrounds of Oak Hill’s East Course in New York. The action ends on 21 May and we’ll find out then which players are victorious and who gets a slice of the gigantic $15,000,000 prize fund. That’s a cool three million more than players got last year!

The US PGA is a Major and it’s the second one of the year, following close on the heels of Georgia’s Masters Tournament. The third Major golf tournament is June’s U.S. Open and the last one is held in the UK in July, with the British Open, which celebrated its 150th birthday last year.

Now, the US PGA wasn’t always in this position in the Major calendar. It actually used to be the last event, taking place in August. However, in 2019, Professional Golf Association planners moved it to mid-May instead. And that’s where it’s remained ever since.

But who might take home the title this year? Well, US player Justin Thomas stormed the green last year, winning the title. Hot on his heels was Will Zalatoris. In terms of players to watch for 2023, the bookies odds are on either Spanish player Jon Rahm or Northern Ireland favorite Rory McIlroy to win. However, they’re also predicting reigning champ Thomas is in with a good shot, as well as 26-year-old dynamo Scottie Scheffler.
