Sports party

Throwing a sports party can be a hell of a lot of fun.

But the key to making sure yours is memorable, and stress-free to organize, is that you do a little thinking and prep before the night arrives.

It’s all to easy to do a half-hearted job. Then suddenly people arrive at your door and you’re not entirely sure what the night will entail. Sometimes those sports parties can be a lot of fun. But sometimes everyone ends up a little bit bored and aimless. Not what you want at all.

Think of a theme

Themed parties can be excellent fun. And if your pals are all into the same type of sport, this can be a game changer for a sports party. So, for example, if you want to throw an NFL party, everyone can wear their teams’ jerseys. Hell, they could even dress up as their favorite players.

If you’re going for a theme like that, it’d be great to have a few snacks to match. Think about the kinds of food served at a sporting event or even go for colors or shapes that work with your theme. An easy example of this would to be to serve Pimms and strawberries and cream at a Wimbledon themed party.

Get your set up straight

If your sports party is going to revolve around watching a particular game or event, make sure that you’ve got everything set up so people can watch it. Is your TV big enough? Do you have enough seats? Is the sound good enough quality so that people can hear above chatter? If the answer to any of these questions is no, consider renting or borrowing a projector and some extra speakers to make sure the viewing experience is epic.

Carefully curate the invite list

Guests make any sports party. So when you’re putting together your invite list, you should have a few things in mind. First of all, figure out how many people you want to attend and how many people will fit in your home.

Next up, think about what kind of party you’d like to have. If you want it to be all about cricket, make sure you invite your fellow cricket fans, along with some open minded folks. But be careful not to invite anyone who hates the sport and will bring down the whole vibe.
