Cheltenham Festival 2025 Dates

The 2025 Cheltenham Festival takes place over four days from Tuesday 11th March through to Friday 14th March 2025.

Each day will feature seven races, for a total of 28 races across the festival. The first race each day will start at 1.20 pm, with the final race at 5.20 pm. The other five races are scheduled for 2 pm, 2.40 pm, 3.20 pm, 4 pm and 4.40 pm. 

Race Changes Announced for Six Cheltenham Festival 2025 Races

After a consultation with racegoers, jockeys, trainers, owners and organisers, the Cheltenham Festival organisers have announced a number of changes to the races for the 2025 meeting. 

A total of six changes have been made to races across the festival:-

  1. The 2M 4F Grade 1 Golden Miller Novice Chase has been replaced with a Grade 2 Limited Novice Handicap Chase (2m 4F).
  2. The National Hunt Chase will become a Novice Handicap Chase and will no longer only be open to amateur jockeys.
  3. The Glenfarclass Cross Country Chase will now become a limited handicap with a 20lb weight range.
  4. The prior experience required to run in a Class 1 or 2 (Non-Novice) handicap race at the Cheltenham Festival 2025 has been increased from three chase and four hurdle runs, to four chase and five hurdle runs. 
  5. All penalties will be moved from the Grade 2 RyanAir Dawn Run Mares Novice Hurdle.
  6. Winners of the Pertemps Qualifiers will be protected, if they are within the weights at the declaration stage, when running in the Pertemps Final.

Wednesday 12th March – Style Wednesday

Style Wednesday is the Cheltenham Festival 2025 equivalent of Ladies’ Day at Ascot. Dressed in their finery, the crowd will enjoy a wide range of top-quality races, including the Coral Cup and the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
