Why The Summit Is The Pinnacle Of The Best eSports Bets This Week

We begin this week’s trawl through the best eSports betting available by looking ahead to an eagerly-awaited Dota 2 event, The Summit 4 in which eight of the best Dota 2 teams in the world will The Summit eSports Bettingface off in Local Area Network play in California, starting on Wednesday 9th December running through until Sunday 13th December.

Of the eight teams competing, six had to qualify through regional qualifiers. Two teams (Team Liquid and OG) qualified via the European Qualification competition. Mineski were the South East Asian qualifier, Digital Chaos the American qualifier and both Vici Gaming and EHOME qualified from the Chinese section.

They join the two invited teams, Evil Geniuses and Virtus.pro as the eight teams battling it out to earn the lion’s share of a $100,000 guaranteed prize fund, which could increase markedly when crowd funding sources are added to the balance.

The organisation of the competition is as a knockout, although losing teams at each stage of the event have a second chance option as they fall into the loser bracket at whatever point in the winners bracket they suffer defeat.

The draw for the initial quarter final match ups has been made and the first games that will kick off the tournament this coming Wednesday sees the following match ups:

  • OG v Mineski
  • Virtus Pro v Vici Gaming
  • EHOME v Team Liquid
  • Digital Chaos v Evil Geniuses

The four winners will progress onto the winners bracket semi finals with the two winners from that contesting the winners final and the winner of that entering the Grand Final.

In the losers bracket, the four losing quarter finalists will face off in two matches before the winners of these games take on the two losers from the semi final. The winners of the loser semi final battle it out to take on the loser from the winners semi final and then the winner of that match up progresses to the final. It is a system that is harder to explain than it is to follow, you’ll be delighted to hear.

The event will be played to a conclusion on Sunday but before then you should have plenty of top quality eSports betting available to enjoy on this fourth event in the series.

ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals gets under way in Burbank this week

Couter Strike : GOWith a guaranteed prize pool of $250,000 up for grabs and eight of the best Counter Striker Global Offensive teams assembled, the ESL ESEA Pro League Season 2 Finals looks like being one of the biggest and most active eSports betting events of the coming week.

The eight teams have already battled through 22 league games prior to qualifying for the event in California, but there has also been the added drama from Europe’s top seed in qualifying, Team SoloMid, who disbanded prior to the finals.

However, the five Danish-based players that left Team SoloMid have now reformed under the somewhat unusual (and word-processor grammar-checker confusing) name of ?. Yes, ? is the name of the team, which really doesn’t help with grammar checks.

The team was only formed on the 3rd December so while it looks like a new team, it is worth remembering this is the same five players who took Team SoloMid to top place in the European qualifying section just a few weeks ago.

The teams that have qualified for the finals are: ?, Fnatic, Natus Vincere and Team EnVyUs from Europe and Team Liquid, Luminosity Gaming, Conquest and Counter Logic Gaming from the United States.

The teams have already been drawn into groups for the initial group stage of the competition.  Team Liquid and ? were named as the top seeds and placed in Group A and Group B respectively. Fnatic, Conquest and Team EnVyUs join Team Liquid in Group A with Luminosity Gaming, Natus Vincere and Counter Logic Gaming joining ? in Group B.

Each team will face off against the other teams in its group before the top three teams in each group head into the playoffs. The top team in each group will get a bye through to the Semi Finals, with the second and third placed team in each group playing off against the teams from the other group who finished in corresponding positions, for a place in the semi final.

After that it is a simple knockout event from the semi final to decide the two finalists and which team will then go on to take the biggest share of the prize pool.

The action kicks off in California in this Local Area Network event on Thursday 10th December and the tournament will close with the final on Sunday 13th December. Remember to check your favourite eSports betting sites for all the latest odds for what will be a big event this week.
