After what has been an unusually long but no less exciting season in European football, we are not at the semi-final stages of the three major club competitions in Europe.
This week, the first leg ties of all six semi-final ties will be contested across the Champions League, Europa League and Europe Conference League.
Two Premier League teams, Manchester City and West Ham, will join two teams from La Liga, one from Switzerland, one from the Netherlands, one from the Bundesliga and five from Serie A competing for a place in the final of their competition.
And of course, you can enjoy a bet on all the games taking place this week.

Can Manchester City gain revenge for their shock loss to Real Madrid in last year’s competition. Two late goals ended City’s hopes in stunning fashion and powered Real onto the final. Real remain a big threat in this competition, but I think City have the personnel to to be able to go to the Bernebeu and pick up a stunning win.
Probable Teams
Real Madrid – (4-3-3) – GK – Courtois, DR – Carvajal, DL – Camavinga, DC, Alaba, Militao, MC – Modric, Valverde, Kroos, AMR – Rodrygo, AML – Vinicius Jr., AC – Benzema

What a game this promises to be; a derby game, two teams who occupy the same stadium in the semi finals of European football’s biggest club competition. This should be a fantastic opportunity for either of these sides to reach the final and I can see this opening game being a very cagey affair and I’d expect a draw after 90 minutes to be honest.
Probable Teams
AC Milan – (4-2-3-1) – GK – Maignan, DR – Calabria, DL – Hernandez, DC – Kjaer, Tomori, DMC – Tonali, Krunic, AMR – Messias, AML – Leao, AMC – Bennacer, AC – Giroud
Inter Milan – (3-5-2) – GK – Onana, DC – D’Ambrosio, Acerbi, Bastoni, DMR – Darmian, DML – Dimarco, MC – Barella, Brozovic, Mkhitaryan, AC – Lukaku, Correa
Predicted Score – AC Milan 1-1 Inter – 5/1
Europa League Semi Finals 1st Leg
Thursday 11th May
AS Roma v Bayer Leverkusen (8pm)
- Venue – Stadio Olimpico
- Referee – Not Appointed Yet
- Head To Head – Played – 3, AS Roma Wins – 1, Leverkusen Wins – 1, Draws – 2
- Form – AS Roma – LDDLW; Bayer Leverkusen – DWWDL
- Europa League Wins – AS Roma – 1, Bayer Leverkusen – 1
- Current bet365 FT Result Odds – Roma 11/10, Leverkusen 11/4, Draw – 23/10
Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen team have bounced back from a disappointing start to the Bundesliga campaign and defeated some good teams to reach this stage of the tournament. So have AS Roma though, especially their 4-1 extra time win over Feyenoord in the last round. This is going to be tight and edgy and I think a low scoring draw is likeliest here.
Probable Teams
AS Roma – (3-4-2-1) – GK – Patricio, DC – Mancini, Ibanez, LLorente, DMR – Zalewski, DML – Spinazzola, MC – Cristante, Matic, AMC – Wijnaldum, Pellegrini, AC – Belotti
Bayer Leverkusen – (3-4-2-1) – GK – Hradecky, DC – Kossounou, Tah, Hincapie, DMR – Frimpong, DML – Bakker, MC – Andrich, Demirbay, AMC – Diaby, Adli, AC – Hlozek
Predicted Score – AS Roma 1-1 Bayer Leverkusen – 11/2
Juventus v Sevilla (8pm)
- Venue – Allianz Stadium
- Referee – Not Appointed Yet
- Head To Head – Played – 4, Juventus Wins – 2, Sevilla Wins – 1, Draws – 1
- Form – Juventus – WWDLL; Sevilla – WLWWW
- Europa League Wins – Juventus – 3, Sevilla – 6
- Current bet365 FT Result Odds – Juventus – 3/4, Sevilla – 4/1, Draw – 13/5
Two of the most successful teams in the Europa League’s long history meet in Turin on Thursday night in what should be a cracker. Juventus start as the favourites to win this first leg but each time Sevilla reach the semi-finals of this cup previously, they have won it, hence I am going for the Spaniards to land another fine result here.
Probable Teams
Juventus – (3-5-1-1) – GK – Perin, DC – Sandro, Bonucci, Bremer, DMR – De Sciglio, DML – Kostic, MC – Rabiot, Locatelli, Miretti, AMC – Di Maria, AC – Chiesa
Sevilla – (4-2-3-1) – GK – Dmitrovic, DR – Montiel, DL – Telles, DC, Nianzou, Bade, DMC, Rakitic, Gueye, AMR – Suso, AMC – Ocampos, AML – Lamela, AC – En-Neysiri
Predicted Score – Juventus 2-2 Sevilla – 18/1
Europa Conference League Semi Finals 1st Leg
Thursday 11th May
Fiorentina v FC Basel (8pm)
- Venue – Artemio Franchi
- Referee – Not Appointed Yet
- Head To Head – Played – 2, Fiorentina Wins – 0, FC Basel Wins – 1, Draws – 1
- Form – Fiorentina – LDWDL, FC Basel – WLWWL
- Conference League Wins – Fiorentina – 0, FC Basel – 0
- Current bet365 FT Result Odds – Fiorentina – 2/5, FC Basel 7/1, Draw – 15/4
Fiorentina were amongst the favourites to win this trophy this season but FC Basel have done very well to get this far, with a fine win over Nice in the last round seeing them reach this semi final. At home, the Italian side have been a little off-form of late, but I think they will use their experience to land the win here.
Probable Teams
Fiorentina – (4-3-3) – GK – Terracciano, DR – Venuti, DL – Biraghi, DC – Milenkovic, Igor, MC – Bonaventura, Mandragora, Barak, AMR – Gonzalez, AML – Sottil, AC – Jovic
FC Basel – (3-1-4-2) – GK – Hitz, DC – Lang, Kasim, Pelmard, DMC – Xhaka, AMR – Ndoye, AML – Burger, AMC – Diouf, Millar, AC – Zeqiri, Amdouni
Predicted Score – Fiorentina 2-0 FC Basel – 6/1
West Ham United v AZ Alkmaar (8pm)
- Venue – London Stadium
- Referee – Not Appointed Yet
- Head To Head – The two teams have not met in a game as yet.
- Form – West Ham – WLLLW, AZ Alkmaar – DWWWL
- Conference League Wins – West Ham – 0, AZ Alkmaar – 0
- Current bet365 FT Result Odds – West Ham 3/5, AZ – 19/4, Draw – 3/1
The English side are the favourites in this first leg, despite a lowly league position. AZ Alkmaar are flying high in the Dutch league in fourth spot after drawing with Ajax at the weekend but away from home you’d expect them to struggle against a bouncing London Stadium crowd.
Probable Teams
West Ham – (4-2-3-1) – GK – Fabianski, DR – Coufal, DL – Cresswell, DC – Aguerd, Ogbonna, DMC – Rice, Soucek, AMR – Bowen, AML – Benrahma, AMC – Paqueta, AC – Antonio
AZ Alkmaar – (4-2-3-1) – GK – Ryan, DR – Sugawara, DL – Kerkez, DC – Hatzidiakos, Beukama, DMC – Reijnders, Clasie, AMR – Odgaard, AML – van Brederode, AMC – Mijnans, AC – Pavlidis
Predicted Score – West Ham 3-1 AZ Alkmaar – 12/1
