Borussia Dortmund v Atalanta
A clash of tempo and tactics, with Dortmund’s high-energy pressing meeting Atalanta’s aggressive, man-to-man approach. Goals look likely over two legs, especially if Dortmund can stretch the tie in transition.
Olympiacos v Bayer Leverkusen
A hostile first leg in Piraeus awaits Leverkusen, but the Bundesliga side’s pace and technical quality should test Olympiacos’ defensive discipline. Set pieces could be decisive for the Greek champions.
Galatasaray v Juventus
Experience versus atmosphere. Juventus bring knockout nous, while Galatasaray rely heavily on home intensity and emotional momentum in Istanbul to try to gain an edge before the return leg.
Club Brugge v Atletico Madrid
A classic stylistic contrast. Brugge are well organised and dangerous at home, but Atletico’s ability to control games and grind out results makes them difficult opponents over two legs.
AS Monaco v Paris Saint-Germain
A domestic rivalry with European consequences. PSG’s star power faces a Monaco side that knows them well and will look to exploit familiarity rather than fear in a finely balanced tie.
Qarabag v Newcastle United
Newcastle’s first leg presents a serious test in difficult travelling conditions. Qarabag’s home record is strong, but Newcastle’s physicality and depth could swing the tie if they avoid early setbacks.
Benfica v Real Madrid
A heavyweight pairing. Benfica’s structure and intensity will be tested against Real Madrid’s experience and individual quality, particularly in big moments that often decide knockout ties.
Bodo/Glimt v Inter Milan
Conditions and surface may play a role in Norway. Bodo/Glimt’s pressing and rhythm at home contrast sharply with Inter’s tactical control and European maturity.
GNK Dinamo v Genk
A tight, evenly matched contest between two sides comfortable at this level. Midfield control and away-leg discipline could prove crucial in what feels like a marginal tie.
Brann v Bologna
Brann’s home intensity faces Bologna’s Serie A organisation. The Norwegian side will likely target the first leg aggressively before travelling to Italy for a more controlled second encounter.
Celtic v VfB Stuttgart
Celtic Park under the lights provides the backdrop for a fascinating tie. Stuttgart’s pace on the break could trouble Celtic, but the Scottish side’s tempo at home is a major weapon.
Ludogorets v Ferencvaros
A familiar European matchup between two experienced campaigners. Ludogorets’ home advantage may be key, but Ferencvaros have the attacking tools to keep the tie alive away from home.
Fenerbahce v Nottingham Forest
An intense atmosphere in Istanbul awaits Forest. Fenerbahce’s crowd and attacking intent contrast with Forest’s likely pragmatic approach, aiming to take the sting out of the tie early.
Panathinaikos v Viktoria Plzen
A tactical battle expected over both legs. Panathinaikos will look to control the tempo at home, while Plzen’s structure and counter-attacking threat could make this finely balanced.
Lille v Red Star Belgrade
Lille’s technical quality meets Red Star’s physical edge and European experience. Managing emotions, especially in Belgrade, will be critical for the French side.
PAOK Salonika v Celta Vigo
A volatile first leg atmosphere in Greece sets the tone. PAOK’s home form is strong, but Celta’s ball control and patience could turn the tie in their favour across two legs.
