Did you know that after betting on football and horse racing,
Virtual Sports betting was
the third most important revenue stream for online betting sites, in terms of the amount of money bet? For many people brought up on standard forms of sports betting, this will be a huge surprise to see that this form of betting now generates more money for bookies than the likes of golf, tennis, rugby, darts or even greyhound betting.
As such, it is not surprising to see that many companies, including bet365 Sport, are looking for ways to ensure that their Virtual Sports service is one of the best and most comprehensive available online and in recent times, bet365 Sport have expanded the type and number of Virtual Sports games that they now host on the site.
And most exciting of all, many of the new additions of Virtual Sports are the first in what promises to be an exciting number of ‘next generation” esports titles.

Virtual Sports played an important role in allowing some states to offer online gambling and sports betting to customers in some states in the U.S. and Pennsylvania is one such state. You can enjoy many forms of sports betting at

Let’s now take a quick look at the Virtual Sports offerings, including the new next-generation series of games.
Bet365 Virtual Sports
Originally, bet365 Sport offered a number of enjoyable, but somewhat. basic Virtual Sports games. These were:
- Horseracing
- Greyhounds
- Soccer
- Motor Racing
- Speedway
- Cycling
- Trotting
- Tennis
These games were all somewhat similar in their graphic design and although the bets available on each differed, it was clear that this first generation of Virtual Sports games could be improved upon.
Despite their apparent simplicity, they proved to be a big success for the company and the result of that has been a significant investment in improving the Virtual Sports offerings at bet365 Sport with the addition of a number of new Virtual Sports over the last few months.
Let’s take a look at these new additions in more detail.
- Bullet Racing – Horse Racing & Greyhound Racing.
This is a faster version of the standard Virtual Horse Racing, with each race taking three
minutes in total, with the race itself just a few seconds to complete from start to finish. There is still a total of three minutes for each event in this version of horse racing, but it does allow punters more time to place their bets.
The graphics on this version of the game have been updated a little from the original, but there is nothing drastically different here.
There is also a Bullet Racing – Greyhounds version available to play and you can find these options under the Horse Racing and Greyhounds sections in the Virtual Sports section of the betting site, alongside the other older Virtual Sports games for each.
A new addition to the bet365 Sports Virtual Sports betting range, Virtual Cricket pits two international teams against each other in a two over match. The first team scores as many runs they can from their over batting before they then take over bowling and their opponents try to beat their total number of runs in their one over of balls.
There are an extensive range of bets available on Virtual Cricket including betting on the winner of the match, the total number of fours or sixes scored in the game, as well as plenty of other bets on other aspects of the game (such as the method of the first dismissal).
There are two options for Virtual Cricket, one set of games played at Clayton Oval and the other at Greenway Field although both options are pretty much identical to each other and use the same teams and the same types of bet.
One of the most visually stunning Virtual Sports games you can play is bet365’s Virtual
Darts. Using motion capture footage of former professional players now plying their trade on the seniors tour, as well as a very realistic depiction of the darts hitting the board, this is arguably the Virtual Sport that looks and plays most like a real game of any of the sports available in this part of the site.
You can bet on who will win the match, what score the player will hit with the first three darts, whether there will be a 180 in the match, or a nine-dart finish and you can combine bets together too for better odds selections.
For me, Virtual Darts is one of the biggest steps in the direction of realistic Virtual Sports that the genre has made and it is a must play for any Virtual Sports fan or darts enthusiast. The addition of real life older players too makes the game much more realistic.
- Virtual American Football
There are two different Virtual American Football offerings, one played at Fenton Field and
one at Queensway Park and unlike other Virtual Sports that offer essentially the same thing twice or three times, in Virtual American Football, you get a different experience depending on which one you want to bet on.
In the Fenton Field option, you bet on teams based on real life NFL teams and you have a number of bets available based on the outcome of the match, such as Game Line bets, Winning Margin bets, Spread and Total bets and similar. The highlights for the game shows selected incidents from each of the four quarters before giving you a recap of the final score of the game.
However, for the Queensway Park option, the game features teams based more on College teams and the betting is based on the outcome of a single drive in the game and features bets on how the drive will turn out, the number of plays in the drive and what type of play will be run on the first down of the drive.
Virtual Basketball features motion-captured footage of two teams competing in a Basketball match over four quarters. You can bet on a number of different options for these games, such as the Match Result, Line bets and similar.
On the day of reviewing, Virtual Basketball was not available on the bet365 Sport site, however it has been available on the past and it may just be a case that the game was being updated before being placed back on the site at a later date.
As you can see, these next generation of games offer more choice than ever for Virtual Sports fans at bet365 Sport, so why not see if the virtual fun is real by having a few bets on them today?
