Down 3-0 from the first leg in Madrid, Manchester City's hopes of progress ended when Bernardo Silva was sent off for handling the ball on the goal line. Vinicius Jr scored the penalty and despite Haaland's equaliser, Real hung on comfortably to progress into the quarter finals 4-1 on aggregate.
