This weekend in the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, Real Madrid will take on Liverpool in the final of the Champions League. Both teams have come through a tough and sometimes dramatic series of games in the league stage and the knockout phase in order to qualify for the biggest club game in the world.

Of course, such a massive game always draws plenty of interested punters in for a bet or two and we recommend that you enjoy a flutter on this game with Coral Sport. You don’t need to sign up with Coral Sport if you don’t like their Bet £5 get £20 of Free Bets offer, instead you could sign up with another Coral service and still get access to sports betting. With such a huge game between two attack-minded teams, it is promising to be one of the most entertaining Champions League Final games in history and the question is not just which team will win on Saturday, but what are the best bets for punters to bet on, based on how the game will progress.

In this article, we are going to focus on four key betting markets that we think have the best chance of seeing punters earn a profit this weekend, and then explain why we are going to back each one.

Let’s begin with what I feel is the most obvious bet to make of the weekend and that is on the Both Teams to Score market.

Bet One – Both Teams to Score – Yes – 4/9 with Coral Sport

A quick look at how each of these teams have fared in the knockout phase of the Champions League will give you every indication of the likelihood of both teams finding the net on Saturday night. Real Madrid scored in every one of their six knockout phase games, netting 13 games in total over the 6 games, but they also conceded 8 goals in those games too.

Liverpool’s record is even more impressive in terms of goalscoring as they have netted a total of 17 goals in their 6 knockout phase games but they have also conceded seven in total, including six conceded in the semi-final against Roma (which they won by a record aggregate score of 7-6).

The Reds attacking trio of Salah, Mane and Firmino have also scored 28 goals in the competition between them this season (Salah 10, Firmino and Mane 9 apiece) and James Milner has the most assists in the tournament with 9. The Reds have also netted a record 46 goals in the competition this season, a Champions League record, even before the final has been played.

However, Real Madrid have Cristiano Ronaldo, who has netted an incredible 15 goals in 12 Champions League games this season and when you factor in all these things together, allied to the fact that defending is neither sides strong point, then you have a match which is always likely to see goals go in at both ends.

Bet Two – Over 3.5 Goals – 6/5 with Coral Sport

Having ascertained that we feel there is likely to be plenty of goals in this game, the question is how many and again, the recent record of both these teams in this competition makes me believe that this is not going to be a match that is decided by a narrow 1-0 scoreline.

There’s no doubt that Cristiano Ronaldo will be relishing the chance to go up against a Liverpool back line that conceded six against Roma in the semi final over two legs, and the Portuguese striker should be well assisted by his team mates as he attempts to earn a third Champions League success in three years for Real.

However, Liverpool’s attacking trio of Mane, Salah and Firmino have set the Champions League alight this season and produced some stunning performances and equally, their particular skills and strengths match up well against a Real back line that hasn’t looked too solid itself in recent games.

As such, I can see this game having at least four goals in it, if not more and I think that makes the Over 3.5 Goals bet certainly one of the best options available at Coral Sport today.

Bet Three – Anytime Goalscorer – Sadio Mane (Liverpool) 9/4

Having ascertained that there will likely be plenty of goals, our next bet is on who is likely to score them. There are two big favourites here, Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid and Mo Salah of Liverpool and both of these are odds on to score any time in the game and as such, I think that their odds are probably not the best.

However, a quick look down the list reveals that you can get better than 2/1 on Sadio Mane of Liverpool scoring at any time. The Senegalese striker has been in superb form in the Champions League this season, especially away from home and I think of Liverpool’s attacking trio, he is the best value bet in this market by a considerable margin.

If you prefer a longer odds option for the Anytime Goalscorer market then I feel there are two good options. Marcelo, who is Real Madrid’s third top scorer in this competition behind Ronaldo and Benzema, is a very tempting 12/1 to score at any time during the game, while with Real looking very susceptible against crosses into the box, Dejan Lovren at 16/1 is a decent option for Reds fans who feel the Reds may get some joy from a set piece.

Bet Four – Match Result – Liverpool – 2/1 with Coral Sport

And so onto our final bet for the game and this is the big one, which of the two teams will win the game and in the end, after considering everything, we feel that this is going to be a very close game but that it will be Liverpool that just about come out on top in what should be an intriguing contest.

Real do have the edge over the Reds in key areas. They are more experienced (playing in their fourth Champions League Final in five years) and they have a truly world class talent in Ronaldo. They also have the better form over Liverpool in their most recent meetings (3-0 and 1-0 wins back in the Champions League of 2013-14) and there is no doubt that this is a world class team.

However, Real have not played that well domestically this season. At times in Europe they have looked extremely vulnerable and could have gone out of the competition to Juventus and Bayern Munich, just about scraping through on each occasion due to their away form. Also they didn’t fare well against English opposition this season, Tottenham drew 1-1 in Madrid and then beat Real 3-1 at Wembley in the group stages.

The biggest reason I have plumped for Liverpool though is because I feel Liverpool’s attacking trio offer more threat and variation than Real’s and that Mane, Salah and Firmino will hit at the most weak part of the Real side, the defence and in particular the full-back positions. I can see Liverpool getting a lot of joy in this area and if they do, then Real could struggle to contain the Reds.

Liverpool can’t rely on their defence however, so I do feel Real will get at least one or two goals, but I think the Reds may just get one or two more in order to claim the win.
