San Francisco 49ers 32-19. New York Jets: The 49ers dominated the Jets with a 32-19 victory. Despite the absence of Christian McCaffrey due to injuries, Jordan Mason stepped up with 147 rushing yards and a touchdown. Brock Purdy was efficient, passing for 231 yards and leading the team to score on eight straight possessions. Deebo Samuel contributed with 77 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown. The Jets struggled, with Aaron Rodgers finishing with 167 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception.
Detroit Lions 26-20. Los Angeles Rams: The Lions edged out the Rams in a close 26-20 overtime win. Jameson Williams had a breakout performance with a long touchdown catch. The Rams faced injuries on offense, including key players like Puka Nacua and a couple of offensive linemen. Tyler Johnson emerged as a potential key player due to these injuries.
Dallas Cowboys 33-17 Cleveland Browns: The Cowboys executed complementary football, with contributions from offense, defense, and special teams. CeeDee Lamb had a solid performance despite limited practice time due to a contract holdout. KaVontae Turpin showcased his speed with a punt return touchdown.
Seattle Seahawks 26-20 Denver Broncos: The Seahawks managed an “ugly win” despite offensive line concerns, particularly with George Fant‘s injury. Geno Smith faced high pressure rates but managed to lead his team to victory.

49ers’ Sun Issue at Levi’s Stadium: Persistent complaints about sun exposure on the east side of the stadium have led the team to schedule games later in the day to avoid the hottest times.
Aaron Rodgers’ Netflix Docu-series: Titled “Aaron Rodgers: Enigma,” the series is set to release on December 17th, offering an in-depth look at the quarterback’s life and career.
Dolphins’ Tyreek Hill Detainment Incident: Coach Mike McDaniel expressed pride in teammates who tried to help Hill during a police detainment before Sunday’s game. Hill was pulled from his car and restrained on the ground by four policemen just hours before the Dolphins game with the Jaguars. He was released a short time before the game. Miami police have launched an internal investigation into the incident after Hill was released without charge.
Cowboys Contract Discussions with Micah Parsons: Executive Vice President Stephen Jones stated that there are no current contract discussions as Parsons focuses on having a great year first.
Browns QB Deshaun Watson faces another assault claim: The NFL are set to investigate another historic sexual assault claim against former Texans QB and current Browns QB Deshaun Watson.
NFL Transactions – Gameday 1
Trades can significantly impact team dynamics and performance. Here are the notable trades from the past week:
Packers Trade for Malik Willis: With Jordan Love suffering an MCL sprain, the Packers trade with the Tennessee Titans for QB Malik Willis looks to be a timely one. Willis has quickly learned the playbook and is likely to start against the Colts. Love is expected to miss between 4-6 weeks of the regular season.
Chargers’ Joey Bosa Pay Cut: Joey Bosa took a pay cut to stay with the team, demonstrating a strong desire to win in the season opener against the Raiders. The move freed up cap space to allow the Chargers to be more flexible with their roster.

The two teams expected to challenge strongly in the AFC East began with come-from behind wins in their opening games. The Bills new look WR corps seemed to gel well with QB Josh Allen against the Cardinals. While the Dolphins battled back from a slow start against the Jacksonville Jaguars to claim a key opening weekend victory over their Florida rivals.

Sunday’s only divisional game sees the Rams face off against the Cardinals with both teams seeking their first win of the season. That also goes for the Jets @ Titans, Giants @ Commanders, Raiders @ Ravens, Colts @ Packers and Browns @ Jaguars games too.
The big game is the late night clash between the Bengals and Chiefs where Cincinnati will look to bounce back against the Chiefs following their shock loss to the Patriots last week.
Monday 16th September – 1.20am
- Chicago Bears (1-0) @ Houston Texans (1-0) – Live on Sky Sports
Three NFC North teams won their season opener last week, the Bears coming from a 17-0 deficit to the Tennessee Titans to record a 24-17 win, thanks to their defense and special teams in the main. They face a Texans side who were the only AFC South team to win their opener and who will be staking a claim to take control of the division with a win here.
Tuesday 17th September – 1.15am
- Atlanta Falcons (0-1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (1-0) – Live on Sky Sports
The Atlanta Falcons defense held the Pittsburgh Steelers to zero touchdowns last week, but still lost the game, as the offense only mustered 10 points against the Steelers six field goals. It could be even tougher this week against the Eagles who head home after victory in Brazil over the Packers.
