UEFA Champions League Final 2025 – Team Preview – Paris Saint-Germain.

UEFA Champions League Final 2025

Treble Domestic Success

It has been an outstanding season domestically for Paris Saint-Germain, who have landed all three domestic trophies in France. The League Cup, French Cup and Ligue 1 have all been added to the Paris Saint-Germain trophy cabinet this season.

A change of mentality, moving away from the signing of superstars, to hungry new talent has worked well for the Parisiens with players like Bradley Barcola, Desire Doue, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz coming to the fore.

However, the resurgence in form of Ousmane Dembele played a key role in their success, with the ex-Barcelona man scoring plenty of goals in a more central attacking role. He's netted a career-best 33 goals in 48 games for the club this season.

The signing of ex-Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia also played a huge role in PSG's success with the Georgian becoming a huge part of the team as part of PSG's fluid three-pronged attack.

Champions League Progress Despite Slow Start

It wasn't all plain sailing for Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. In their first five games of the League stage, they won just one, picked u just four points and were in danger of early elimination.

However, a crucial 4-2 win over Manchester City settled the team down and they followed that with two more wins to earn a place in the Playoffs, where they thrashed fellow French side Brest 10-0 on aggregate over two legs.

Then came a series of six games against three Premier League opponents. They beat Liverpool 4-1 on penalties after a 1-1 draw on aggregate, losing 1-0 at home, but winning 1-0 at Anfield to take it to penalties, where goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma once again showed his quality as a spot-kick saver.

Two exciting games with Aston Villa followed in the quarterfinal a 3-1 win at home followed by a 3-2 defeat away from home seeing PSG through 5-4 on aggregate. A semi-final against Arsenal loomed but PSG won both legs 1-0 in London and 2-1 at home in Paris to progress 3-1 to the UEFA Champions League Final 2025 in Munich!

UEFA Champions League Final 2025 – Team Preview – Inter Milan

UEFA Champions League Final 2025

Serie A Final Day Woe

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi could find himself without a trophy this season despite another excellent campaign by the Nerazzurri. Inter seemed set to win Serie A but a surprise draw against Lazio handed Napoli the advantage on the final day and despite a win at Como, Inter finished second after Napoli beat Cagliari to win their fourth Scudetto.

An injury to captain Lautaro Martinez didn't help Inter over the last month or so of the season as he has only featured sporadically, though he has been specifically rested with the UEFA Champions League Final 2025 very much in mind.

Inter's strength is their defence, especially in Europe, and the threat posed by wing-backs Denzel Dumfries and Federico Dimarco is potent. Yann Sommer is a reliable presence in goal and Marco Barella runs the game from midfield with an elegance and poise that is a hallmark of the team.

Defence Anchors Solid Champions League Performance

Inter's progress through the league stage was solid as they amassed 19 points out of 24 to finish fourth in the table and comfortably earn a spot in the Round of 16, thus enjoying a bye in the playoff round.

A straightforward 4-1 victory over Feyenoord in the Round of 16 followed before Inter were embroiled in two dramatic ties. First, they defeated Bayern Munich 4-3 on aggregate to progress into the semi-finals.

There they met Barcelona and in a two-legged classic, the Italian side showed clinical finishing in front of goal to draw 3-3 in Barcelona and then win 4-3 after extra time in Milan to progress into the final 7-6 on aggregate.
