So it’s important that you get a bit of rest and recuperation in and what better way to do that than enjoying some fantastic sports betting opportunities that present themselves over the Festive Period and into the New Year. So with that in mind, let’s load up Coral Sport and take a look at some of the most exciting sporting action coming up across this festive-fuelled week.

Winter Festival Horseracing at Kempton Park – 26th December

One of the most traditional meets of the National Hunt season takes place every year, starting Boxing Day at Kempton Park as many of the top jumpers amd hurdlers get together for what is now termed the Winter Festival, but is also known colloquially as the Boxing Day Meet (although it actually covers the 26th and 27th December).

Across the two days of action, there are a total of 12 of the highest quality jump races, with three Grade 1 Races taking place on Boxing Day including the Christmas Hurdle, Kauto Star Novice’s Chase and the big one, the King George VI Steeple Chase, which was won last year by the brilliant Thistlecrack.

For the King George VI Steeple Chase, Coral are currently offering the following odds on the main contenders, which comprise generally of four horses:

  • Might Bite – 11/8 Favourite
  • Bristol De Mai – 7/2
  • Fox Norton – 6-1
  • Thistlecrack – 6-1

While Might Bite and Bristol De Mai may be the strong favourites here, I must admit to having a real soft spot for Colin Tizzard’s Thistlecrack. This a horse which at its best over the last two years has routinely destroyed top quality fields, until injury ended his hopes of Gold Cup success. Whether he is the same horse a year on after that injury remains doubtful, but I’ll certainly be backing him at 6/1 because I know he will not leave anything in the tank to try and get that win. He was well beaten in his first run back at Newbury, but I think that rustiness will have left him by Boxing Day.

PDC World Darts Championship Continues

It is also worth noting that after a break on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (and with another break scheduled for New Year’s Eve), the PDC World Darts Championship gets back into action on Boxing Day with a number of Second Round matches. The Final Second Round games plus all the Third Round ties will be played from the 26th to the 28th December.

Then on the 29th December it is the Quarter Finals, with the Semi Finals on the 30th December. There’s then the one-day break for New Year’s Eve before the Final of the competition is contested on the 1st January 2018.

Coral sport are offering a massive choice of betting on this big sporting event over the festive period with a wide selection of pre-match betting available, as well as outright betting on the winner and who will reach the final, plus an extensive selection of In-Play betting to enjoy as the players battle against each other to get through to the later rounds.

Can anybody stop Michael Van Gerwen on his way to a potential third title? Will Gary Anderson, Peter Wright, Phil Taylor or perhaps an outside bet come through the incredibly tough bottom half of the draw to potentially face the Dutchman in the final? Are Raymond Van Barneveld and Michael Van Gerwen on course for a dramatic match up in the quarterfinals of the top half of the draw once again? All will be revealed as the competition progresses over the Christmas/New Year period.

A Bumper Selection of Premier League Games to Enjoy

It is also a massive time of the year for Premier League teams who begin what is for them a hugely hectic period of fixtures over Christmas and the New Year.
