The Christmas period is always a very busy one in the Premier League. 
While other leagues across Europe in the likes of Germany, Spain and Italy, will close their league down for the winter break, teams in England will face a hectic period of games including three games in the space of around 9 or 10 days from 26th December to the 2nd January.
In this article, we are going to preview these three sets of matchdays one after the other, however due to the fact we are having to compile these tips a good while before the dates, and the sheer number of games, we are not going to be able to go into quite the same level of detail that we normally do for our tips. Instead, we’ll give you a general preview of the matchday, together with our simple tips for each game.

With a total of 30 games to be played in little over a week and nine points up for grabs for teams, it could be a pivotal period for teams that do well, or poorly, over the Christmas period. With that in mind, here are our tips for the three sets of games taking place, starting with the games on Boxing Day.

Preview
There are some massive games taking place on Boxing Day, with all matches 
being showed live on Amazon Prime once again. The biggest games sees the top two clash at the King Power as Leicester City lock horns with Liverpool. The Reds won a tight one 2-1 at Anfield earlier on this season thanks to a last gasp James Milner penalty but Leicester know a win here could put them right back in the title mix.
Manchester City face a tough task as they face a Wolves side on the road, who beat them at the Etihad earlier on in the season. This is a must win game for City, but Wolves form over the past 12 or so games has been generally excellent.
Manchester United also face Newcastle at Old Trafford in what is another stand out tie from Boxing Day with two teams that are in better form at the moment meeting head on with two former United colleagues in Steve Bruce and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer going head to head.
There’s also crucial action from the foot of the table too with Aston Villa taking on Norwich, Everton facing Burnley, while Watford have a tough game away to Sheffield United in what could be a pivotal period for all the teams embroiled at the bottom of the table.

Preview
The weekend’s games start with a south coast clash as Brighton face 
Bournemouth in the early kick off with Brighton probably the favourites to win that game given their better form of late. The biggest game of the weekend comes at the Emirates where Arsenal face Chelsea in what should be a cracking and very attacking London derby, with both teams struggling defensively but possessing a potent attacking threat.
The top two also have a couple of tricky games with Leicester City travelling south to take on West Ham United in London, while Liverpool have a home game against a Wolves side that have proven to be the nemesis of the ‘big six’ over the last couple of years. Manchester City face Sheffield United on Sunday in what is a must win game for them, while United face a short trip to take on a Burnley side that are out of sorts at the moment.
There’s also plenty of key action from the foot of the table too with Everton at Newcastle, Southampton taking on Crystal Palace, Norwich facing an improving Tottenham while Watford face a massive six point clash against fellow strugglers Aston Villa at Vicarage Road.

Preview
As 2020 dawns, most Premier League players will likely be tucked up in bed readying themselves for the games on New Years Day. There are plenty to enjoy across the day, with all games being shown live on BT Sport. Brighton take on Chelsea in the opening game and there’s a big relegation battle at Turf Moor as Aston Villa and Burnley collide.
Leicester face another tough away trip this time to Newcastle United in what should be a difficult game for both sides, while Watford will be hoping to pick up a valuable three points at home to Wolves. The big games however come later in the day with Manchester City taking Everton on at the Etihad, while later on in the evening Arsenal and Manchester United clash in what should be a cracker at the Emirates.
Finally, on the 2nd January, Liverpool complete matchday 21 with a home game against Sheffield United, a side they only beat narrowly at Bramall Lane earlier on in the season.
