Let’s now take a look at the five days of racing and look at some of the big races taking place each day, as well as our top tips for who to back in some of those standout flat races.

Royal Ascot – 2pm Each Day – Royal Procession

Remember, each day at Royal Ascot starts with the Royal Procession at 2pm sharp.

The Royal Landaus with four Windsor Greys leading the procession approach along the Straight Mile.

In their carriage, the Royal Family then enter the Royal Enclosure through the Parade Ring to signal that the current days racing can now get underway.

This tradition dates back to 1825 and is one of the most famous in horse racing, although whether the Queen will be in attendance this year is not yet known.

She will certainly hope to be given that it is one of her favourite sports events of the year.

Royal Ascot – Day 1 – Tuesday 14th June

  • 2.30pm – The Queen Anne Stakes
  • 3.05pm – The Coventry Stakes
  • 3.40pm – The King’s Stand Stakes
  • 4.20 pm – The St James’s Palace Stakes
  • 5.00pm – The Ascot Stakes Handicap
  • 5.35pm – The Wolferton Stakes
  • 6.10 pm – The Copper Horse Stakes

Top Tips for Tuesday

  • 2.30pm – Baaed (2/7) Nap
  • 3.05pm – Persian Force (4/1)
  • 3.40pm – Golden Pal (7/4)
  • 4.20pm – Coroebus (4/9) Nap
  • 5.00pm – Bring On The Night (5/1)
  • 5.35pm – Foxes Tales (10/1 – EW)
  • 6.10pm – Cleveland (5/1)

I like the look of Baaed in the Queen Anne paired up with Coroebus in the St James’ Palace stakes at 4.20 as a nice win double bet here. Of the others Golden Pal should run well in the King’s Stand Stakes, while Persian Force should be thererabouts in the Coventry Stakes.

This is a high-class opening day of racing and there are some quality horses scheduled to run here and it is going to be interesting to see the fields when the final declarations are made.

Royal Ascot – Day 2 – Wednesday 15th June

  • 2.30pm – The Queen Mary Stakes
  • 3.05pm – The Queen’s Vase
  • 3.40pm – The Prince Of Wales’ Stakes
  • 4.20 pm – The Duke of Cambridge Stakes
  • 5.00pm – The Royal Hunt Cup
  • 5.35pm – The Windsor Castle Stakes
  • 6.10 pm – The Kensington Palace Stakes

Top Tips for Wednesday

  • 2.30pm – Dramatised (9/2)
  • 3.40pm – Bay Bridge (5/4) Nap
  • 4.20pm – Alcohol Free (9/2)
  • 5.00pm – Astro King (9/1)

My big pick Tuesday is Bay Bridge (5/4) in the Prince of Wales Stakes as I think he will likely run this race of the ones he is entered in. Dramatised in the Queen Mary and Alcohol Free in the Duke of Cambridge are both solid options priced up at 9/2 for the time being. With the field for the Royal Hunt Cup not yet whittled down, I think Astro King is a solid option here at 9/1.

Royal Ascot – Day 3 – Thursday 16th June

  • 2.30pm – The Norfolk Stakes
  • 3.05pm – The Hampton Court Stakes
  • 3.40pm – The Ribblesdale Stakes
  • 4.20 pm – The Ascot Gold Cup
  • 5.00pm – The Britannia Stakes
  • 5.35pm – The King George V Stakes
  • 6.10 pm – The Buckingham Palace Stakes

Top Tips for Thursday

  • 2.30pm – The Antarctic (7/2)
  • 3.40pm – Sea Silk Road (10/3)
  • 4.20pm – Trueshan (7/2) Nap

The Gold Cup is the big attraction on Thursday and my nap of the day is Trueshan (7/2) though it will likely be pushed with horses of the quality of Stradivarius in the field too. I also like The Antarctic (7/2) in the Norfolk Stakes at 2.30 and the Ribblesdale favourite Sea Silk Road (10/3) is another solid option in the 3.30 race.

Royal Ascot – Day 4 – Friday 17th June

  • 2.30pm – The Albany Stakes
  • 3.05pm – The Commonwealth Cup
  • 3.40pm – The Duke of Edinburgh Stakes
  • 4.20 pm – The Coronation Stakes
  • 5.00pm – The Sandringham Stakes
  • 5.35pm – The King Edward VII Stakes
  • 6.10 pm – The Palace of Holyroodhouse Stakes

Top Tips for Friday

  • 2.30pm – Mawj (10/3)
  • 3.05pm – Go Bears Go (10/1) EW
  • 4.20pm – Inspiral (3/1)
  • 5.35pm – Nation’s Pride (7/1) EW

Ladies Day is always one of the most popular days at Royal Ascot and this year will be no exception. It is also one of the most open days of racing to enjoy, with plenty of quality in all of the seven races. I like the look of Mawj (10/3) in the Albany Stakes, and Inspiral (3/1) has just enough quality to get the nod in the Coronation Stakes. However, my other two tips, I’d take as each way options given the potential fields in both races.

Royal Ascot – Day 5 – Saturday 18th June

  • 2.30pm – The Chesham Stakes
  • 3.05pm – The Jersey Stakes
  • 3.40pm – The Hardwicke Stakes
  • 4.20 pm – The Platinum Jubilee Stakes
  • 5.00pm – The Wokingham Stakes
  • 5.35pm – The Golden Gates Stakes
  • 6.10 pm – The Queen Alexandra Stakes

Top Tips for Saturday

  • 3.40pm – Hurricane Lane (4/6) Nap
  • 4.20pm – Nature Strip (6/1)
  • 5.00pm – Fresh (8/1)

The top pick for me on Saturday is Hurricane Lane in the Hardwicke Stakes and I think he has a fantastic chance of winning that race. My other two picks today are longer odds bets which may offer particularly good value in the antepost markets as if both run, then I’d expect their starting price to be considerably shorter come race day.

Remember, all odds shown are for the antepost betting market at bet365 Sport and while the prices were correct at the time of writing, when the final declarations for the races are made, these odds will likely change considerably come race day.

Also with several horses entered into several races, some of those horses picked here may yet run in different races at Royal Ascot.
