There may still be no fans in the stadium, and no prospect of that ending soon, but the Premier League is back and with a bang after an incredible weekend of action saw a new record for goals scored across the ten games played and once again, no draws in any of the games (the second week in a row that has occurred).

After a number of games in the Carabao Cup this week (which we previewed on Monday), the teams will return to action once again this weekend, with ten games spread out across three days of action, four each on Saturday and Sunday plus two games on Monday evening, all of them being shown live in the UK.

If the goal-packed action last weekend has prompted you to consider enjoying a wager or two on the Premier League over the course of the season, then you will want to join a betting site that not only offers outstanding Premier League betting, offers and promotions, but which also has extensive live streaming of a myriad of sports events, In Play betting and access to a host of other sites too and the place to start for all of that is with the latest bet365 New Player Promotion.

So before we take a look at the fixtures and tips for the forthcoming weekend of Premier League action, let’s first recap how the games went across Matchday 2, which saw a record 44 goals scored across the ten games played.

Premier League Matchday 2 Results

  • Everton 5-2 West Brom
  • Leeds Utd 4-3 Fulham
  • Man Utd 1-3 Crystal Palace
  • Arsenal 2-1 West Ham
  • Southampton 2-5 Tottenham
  • Newcastle 0-3 Brighton
  • Chelsea 0-2 Liverpool
  • Leicester City 4-2 Burnley
  • Aston Villa 1-0 Sheff Utd
  • Wolves 1-3 Manchester City

Early season pacesetters in the Premier League are Leicester City who are one of five teams to have picked up maximum points from their two games so far. The Foxes lie ahead of Everton, Arsenal, Liverpool and Crystal Palace on goal difference, with Aston Villa and Manchester City (who have both played just one game) also with 100% winning records at present.

At the other end of the table, there are seven teams without a win; Burnley, Manchester United, West Ham, Sheffield United, Fulham, Southampton and West Brom. However it should be noted that the first two teams in this list have played just the one game so far this season in the EPL.

Away teams are coming out on top at the moment with 11 away victories (61%) and just seven home wins in the 18 games played so far. Incredibly, there have been no draws in any of the opening 18 games played between the teams.

Premier League Matchday 3 Fixtures, Preview and Tips

Saturday 26th September

  • 30pm – Brighton v Manchester United
  • 00pm – Crystal Palace v Everton
  • 30pm – West Brom v Chelsea
  • 00pm – Burnley v Southampton

These four interesting fixtures get things underway on Matchday 3 with Man Utd desperately needing a win away to Brighton, but facing a Seagulls side that were superb in defeating Newcastle United 3-0 on the road last weekend. The Red Devils have it all to do against Graham Potter’s side who shone last week at St James’ Park.

Two 100% records clash in the second game as Palace face off against Everton in what should be another intriguing game before Chelsea seek to bounce back from their defeat last week against bottom of the table side West Brom and I strongly fancy them to do that. The final game sees Burnley face Southampton, with both sides pointless so far this season and both desperate to pick up a win to kick start their season.

Saturday’s EPL Tips

  • Brighton v Man Utd – Brighton to win 2-1 – 16/1
  • Crystal Pal v Everton – Dominic Calvert Lewin to score anytime – 2/1
  • WBA v Chelsea – Chelsea to win 3-1 – 12/1
  • Burnley v Southampton – Southampton to win to nil – 13/5

Sunday 27th September

  • 00pm – Sheffield United v Leeds United
  • 00pm – Tottenham v Newcastle United
  • 30pm – Manchester City v Leicester City
  • 00pm – West Ham United v Wolves

The Yorkshire derby between the two United’s, Sheffield and Leeds opens up Sunday in spectacular style as two managers with very different approaches to the game clash in what should be a fantastic game to start the day off. Next up we see in form Spurs, who hammered five past Southampton last weekend (Son scoring four of those goals) take on a Newcastle side still smarting from their 3-0 home defeat by Brighton last weekend.

Then follows the biggest game of Sunday as Manchester City take on table-topping Leicester in what should be a cracker at the Etihad, although I do feel City showed enough against Wolves to be considered firm favourites here. Lastly, we have West Ham seeking a win and some form against Wolves who will looking to bounce back after that defeat to City last week and who I feel have a good chance to do so against the hapless Hammers.

Sunday’s EPL Tips

  • Sheff Utd v Leeds Utd – Patrick Bamford to score anytime – 2/1
  • Tottenham v Newcastle – Harry Kane to score 1st and Spurs to win – 3/1
  • Man City v Leicester – Manchester City to win 3-1 – 10/1
  • West Ham v Wolves – Wolves to win – 6/5

Monday 28th September

  • 00pm – Fulham v Aston Villa
  • 15pm – Liverpool v Arsenal

The final two games of the weekend take place on Monday night starting with Aston Villa’s trip to Fulham. The Villains picke dup three points in their win over Sheffield United on Monday, their first game of the season, so another win here would see them earn a maximum six. Fulham have lost both their opening two games, but I do feel they have the quality to get a result here.

The second game is a Premier League classic as Liverpool face Arsenal at Anfield. The Gunners have had the upper hand in the last two fixtures between the teams so the home side will be keen to put that right here especially as they have a superb home record against the Gunners. Both sides 100% records will be on the line in what should be a cracking game to finish the week.

Monday’s EPL Tips

  • Fulham v Aston Villa – Aleksandar Mitrovic to score anytime – 6/4
  • Liverpool v Arsenal – Mo Salah to score first, Liverpool to win 3-1 – 18/1
