Welcome to our preview of the Premier League fixtures coming up this weekend on Matchday 11. After an amazing set of results in Matchday 10, which saw three out of the top four teams lose, it was Liverpool who were the big winners with their comeback 2-1 win over Brighton taking them top of the table.
For Matchday 11’s set of Premier League fixtures, the big games keep coming thick and fast. There’s a battle at the bottom as Wolves face Southampton in a massive six-pointer for both teams.
The early evening game sees Brighton host Manchester City on Saturday with the Citizens reeling from a run of three successive defeats. Then table-topping Liverpool face Aston Villa in one of the few Saturday night Premier League fixtures.
Sunday’s action sees Nottingham Forest host Newcastle with the home side hoping to continue their excellent start to the campaign. The big game though comes at Stamford Bridge where Chelsea and Arsenal clash in a game neither can afford to lose given the state of the Premier League at present.

Matchday 11 – Premier League Fixtures
Saturday 9th November (3pm Kick off Unless Stated)
Brentford v Bournemouth
The first of this weekend’s Matchday 11 Premier League fixtures sees two mid-table teams clash at the Gtech Community Stadium. Brentford have won four of their five at home, drawing the other, but have lost all five games away from home. 15 of their 19 Premier League goals this season have come at home.
They face a Bournemouth side that have just one win away from home so far this season, drawing two and losing two. However, the Cherries can point to a stunning run of results where they have beaten Arsenal and Manchester City at home, and drawn away to Aston Villa in the past three games.
Tip – 90% of Brentford’s matches and 60% of Bournemouth’s have seen both teams score this season, both teams to score is odds of 1.50 with bet365 Sport.
Crystal Palace v Fulham
Crystal Palace come into this London derby on Matchday 11 having gone two games unbeaten. They lie 17th in the table and will view this game with Fulham as one of the more winnable Premier League fixtures they have over the next few weeks. The Eagles have won just once at home in the league, but have lost just one of their last four at Selhurst Park.
Marco Silva’s Fulham have won just once on the road this season, but only lost two of their five games. They sit 10th in the table. Like Palace they come into this game unbeaten in their last two having drawn at Everton and then beaten Brentford 2-1 last time out.
Tip – Fulham have drawn three games this season, Palace four. With similar form, the best bet here looks to be to back the draw at 3.50.
West Ham v Everton
West Ham host Everton this weekend in one of the more pressurised Premier League fixtures of Matchday 11. The pressure is very much on West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui with the Hammers 14th in the table and having lost five of their last ten games, including three of their last five at home. However, wins over Man Utd and Ipswich in their past two home games have reduced the tension a little.
It’s a similar story for Sean Dyche whose Everton side lie 16th in the table. The Toffees five game undefeated run (3 draws, 2 wins) ended last weekend with a disappointing 1-0 away defeat to Southampton. Another defeat here could heap more pressure back on Everton and drag them back into the battle at the bottom, depending on results elsewhere.
Tip – Both teams are not the best defensively, so expect both to score, but a draw seems unlikely. As such, Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals at 2.10 is a good bet.
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Southampton
Some Premier League fixtures are six-pointers, allowing two rivals to battle it out, one winning three points and also denying their rivals any. This battle at the bottom between Wolves and Southampton is one such game even on Matchday 11 of the season. Especially with the home side Wolves yet to win a game this season, drawing three of their ten games, losing the other seven. Manager Gary O’Neill is certainly feeling the pressure.
The same is true for Russell Martin at Southampton, although last week’s 1-0 win over Everton was a much needed first win of the campaign. This battle of the bottom two is a massive one for both teams and the boost from winning this game could have a massive impact on the rest of the campaign.
Tip – Wolves were unfortunate not to beat Palace last time out. It is time for them to finally land their first win of the campaign. Take Wolves to win at 1.95.
Brighton v Manchester City (5.30pm)
Eighth placed Brighton host second-place Manchester City in the evening kick off on Saturday. The Seagulls are unbeaten at home in the league this season, winning two and drawing three. They come into this game on the back of two consecutive defeats to Liverpool, one in the Carabao Cup, one in the league. So they’ll want a good result here.
Pep Guardiola has often remarked that Brighton is one of City’s most difficult Premier League fixtures. Coming on the back of three defeats, that makes this trip to the South Coast even more trepidatious. Rodri’s absence is being keenly felt in midfield, but the return of Kevin De Bruyne from injury will be a massive boost to the visitors here.
Tip – Having come from back to back defeats to Liverpool, Brighton will be hopeful of getting something here. But expect City to bounce back and claim the win at 1.72.
Liverpool v Aston Villa (8pm)
Liverpool’s superb start to the season sees them top of the table heading into this tricky clash with Aston Villa. The Reds come into this game having thrashed Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in midweek in the Champions League and with confidence skyrocketing. However they will be wary of facing an Aston Villa team that lie sixth in the table at present.
Villa come into this fixture with just one win in their last five league games. They have drawn three of those matches, but last weekend were on the wrong end of a 4-1 thrashing to Tottenham Hotspur and then they followed that up with a 1-0 loss to Club Brugge in the Champions League. Not the ideal preparation for a trip to Anfield this weekend.
Tip – Mo Salah has been in superb form for Liverpool this season and after failing to find the net against Leverkusen, back Salah to score anytime here at 2.05.

Sunday 10th November (2pm Kick off Unless Stated)
Manchester United v Leicester City
Sunday’s Premier League fixtures sees three games at 2pm and the first is at Old Trafford as Manchester United face Leicester City. The teams met in Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s first game in charge as interim boss in the Carabao Cup and United won that match 5-2. The Dutchman would take the same result here in his final game before Ruben Amorim takes over at the club.
Just two places separate Leicester (15th) from United (13th) but the Foxes were well-beaten on their last trip to Old Trafford. Manager Steve Cooper will know he cannot afford to let United grab the initiative here and he may seek to use pace in attack to try and get the better of United’s somewhat slow defensive line.
Tip – Just four goals in five home games this season highlights United’s problems at Old Trafford. Despite that, back United to take the win here and both teams to score at 1.66.
Nottingham Forest v Newcastle United
High-flying Nottingham Forest occupy third spot in the league table, with Newcastle down in eleventh but this looks to be one of the more even Premier League fixtures this weekend. Forest have lost just once this season, but that was at home to Fulham. But they come into this game on the back of a three-game winning streak.
Newcastle have been a bit below par this season and their away from has been a big issue with just one win in five. They have also lost two of their last three games, but bounced back from consecutive defeats last week to beat Arsenal 1-0.
Tip – Forest have the form but that win last week was a huge one for Newcastle and I expect the Magpies to get something here. Take the draw at 3.30.
Tottenham Hotspur v Ipswich Town
One of the more lop-sided Premier League fixtures this weekend sees Spurs take on Ipswich Town with the home side in great shape after massive wins over Manchester City and Aston Villa in their past two games. Ange Postecoglou’s team have won four of five games at home, scoring 15 goals in the process and no team has scored more Premier League goals than Spurs this season.
Ipswich have drawn half of their ten games in the EPL this season, but their other five Premier League fixtures have ended in defeat. They lie 18th in the table and have lost both their last two away games, conceding four goals on each occasion. In fact they have shipped four goals in three of their five away games this season.
Tip – Tottenham to win and over 3.5 goals at 2.10 looks like the bet to make here given the records of both these teams.
Chelsea v Arsenal (4.30pm)
The last of the Premier League fixtures this week sees Chelsea take on Arsenal in what should be a cracker of a London derby. Fourth takes on fifth in the table in a match that neither team can afford to lose, but equally may not be happy with a draw either. Chelsea have gone four unbeaten at home and have had just one defeat in their last nine games, away to Liverpool.
Arsenal’s form on the road will be a huge worry for Gunners fans. They have lost both their last two away fixtures, at Bournemouth and Newcastle United, and the Gunners also lost 1-0 away to Inter Milan in the Champions League in midweek. This could be a crucial game for the ambitions of these two teams for the rest of this season.
Tip – Martin Odegaard’s return will help Arsenal but is he match fit for this game? Chelsea have their own injury worries too, which means a draw at 3.40 is the bet to back.
