What are the dates for the Premier League 22-23?

The Premier League starts on Saturday, 6 August 2022 and ends on Sunday, 28 May 2023.

What do the changes in substitutions mean?

Traditionally, teams were allowed to make three substitutions. However, for the first time, this year they’ll be able to make five subs.

This is designed to match up with the approach to substitutions in the other major European leagues in Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands and France.

Is the World Cup taking place at the same time as the Premier League this year?

Yes, it is. Usually the World Cup happens during the summertime when the Premier League is over. However, due to climate considerations in host country Qatar, the World Cup is happening in November and December.

So that Premier League players can represent their team, there will be a substantial break from 14 November until 25 December. The first post-World Cup match is taking place on 26 December.
