Weekly NFL Recap: NFL News Stories from Gameday 3
Head Coach Doug Pederson is fighting for his job in Jacksonville according to reports. The Jaguars have started the season with a miserable 0-3 record and the performance in their 47-10 loss in Buffalo on Monday night had the coach admitting he watched “not a very good football team” in the game. “The speeches are over. We don’t need any more rah-rah stuff,” stated Pederson ahead of a crucial AFC South clash with Houston this week.
The Baltimore Ravens made a move to sign veteran pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue to their practice squad. The defensive end enjoyed a short spell with Baltimore in 2020, featuring in nine games and starting in three for the Ravens. After spending four years in Jacksonville, the defensive lineman has also featured for the Vikings, Raiders, Colts and most recently the Bears, where he made 13 starts last season, landing four sacks.
Malik Nabers, at 21-years of age, became the youngest wide receiver in NFL history to score two touchdowns in a game when scoring twice against the Cleveland Browns for the New York Giants at the weekend. The rookie has been a very bright spot for the Giants so far this season.
Wide Receiver CeeDee Lamb has apologised for his outburst on the sidelines in the Cowboys loss to the Ravens last weekend. “I played a part in that loss, a big part, honestly, and my body language nor attitude [changed] the outcome of the game.” he admitted via the Cowboys website this week.

NFL Gameday 4 Previews
All the times shown in the section below are UK (BST) time. Those with NFL Gamepass can watch all NFL games live. Selected other games will be shown live on Sky Sports and Amazon Prime as outlined below.
Friday 27th September – 1.15am
- Dallas Cowboys (1-2) @ New York Giants (1-2) – Live on Sky Sports
It’s an NFC East rivalry game to kick Gameday 4 off in the NFL as the Giants host the Cowboys in a game that is now crucial for both teams. With just one win on the board from three games, and with the Eagles and Commanders both having two wins, defeat for one or other of the teams will put them at the bottom of the East and leave their rivals in with a chance of extending their lead over them.
Sunday 29th September – 6pm, 9.05pm, 9.25pm
- New Orleans Saints (2-1) @ Atlanta Falcons (1-2)
- Cincinnati Bengals (0-3) @ Carolina Panthers (1-2)
- Los Angeles Rams (1-2) @ Chicago Bears (1-2)
- Minnesota Vikings (3-0) @ Green Bay Packers (2-1)*

*Sky Sports are yet to pick which two games to show live on Sunday night football in the UK. However the two games marked with an asterisk are the matches that are likely to be selected for live coverage.
Sunday’s live games are not yet confirmed by Sky Sports but there are a couple of likely contenders. The Saints at the Falcons is a classic NFC South clash, but the game that will most likely be shown early will be the 3-0 Vikings against the 2-1 Packers in an exciting NFC North clash. If not, then the Tampa Bay Buccaneers facing the Philadelphia Eagles could be the game shown live between two teams with a 2-1 record. The evening game will likely see an AFC West clash between the Super Bowl Champions Chiefs at the Los Angeles Chargers, especially with the teams in the other late games all having 1-2 records.
Monday 30th September – 1.20am
- Buffalo Bills (3-0) @ Baltimore Ravens (1-2) – Live on Sky Sports
Two of the AFC powerhouses meet in what should be a crucial game in the early hours of Monday. Buffalo’s fantastic start has them amongst the front-runners in the AFC. The Ravens want to be one of those teams also but after losing both their openers, they really must win this game to avoid the Ravens and Chiefs opening up a three-game lead on them in the race to the playoffs. Even in the early weeks of this season, this game has huge significance in the AFC.
Tuesday 1st October – 12.30am, 1.15am
- Tennessee Titans (0-3) @ Miami Dolphins (1-2) – Live on Amazon Prime
- Seattle Seahawks (3-0) @ Detroit Lions (2-1) – Live on Sky Sports
There’s two very different games on Tuesday morning in the UK. On Amazon Prime, two struggling teams in the AFC meet at the Hard Rock Stadium as the home team Dolphins welcome the winless Titans in a game that will put two teams struggling at quarterback against each other. The later game though showcases two powerhouses in the NFC as the Seattle Seahawks defend their 100% record at the Detroit Lions in what should be a fantastic battle between two very well-matched teams.
