NFL Week 7 Recap – Gameday 7 Review
The NFL Week 7 is now in the history books for the 2024 season and as usual, we saw the mix of expected and unexpected in this set of results.
And like Gameday 6 in the NFL, we also saw a number of key injuries for teams, all of which makes the forthcoming trade deadline all the more important.
NFL Week 8 sees a full slate of games with no teams on a bye week, which will certainly make things interesting in terms of the situation in a number of divisions. Not least the NFC North which sees four teams with four or more wins on the season.
In fact the bottom team in that division (the 4-2 Chicago Bears) would top the NFC South, where the leaders, Atlanta Falcons have a 4-3 record (the same as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers).
As usual, bet365 Sport has a wide range of betting available on the NFL every week of the regular season, post season and right through to the Super Bowl and beyond!

NFL Week 7 News Stories
In NFL Week 7, fans witnessed some thrilling games and unexpected outcomes. The Detroit Lions faced off against the Minnesota Vikings, where Detroit’s offense, led by Jared Goff, continued its impressive run. The Lions managed to secure a 31-29 victory, showcasing their strong offensive capabilities.
Meanwhile, in one of the NFL Week 7 late games the New York Jets saw the debut of Davante Adams against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Despite Adams’ efforts, the Jets struggled offensively, reminiscent of last season’s challenges under Zach Wilson. In the end the Steelers won comfortably 37-15.
The Seattle Seahawks took on the Atlanta Falcons, focusing on Seattle’s blitz strategy under Coach Mike Macdonald. It didn’t work out for the Falcons who moved to 4-3 in the NFC South after a 34-14 defeat at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
However, NFL Week 7 may be remembered as the week of injuries in the league. A number of key players, including QB Deshaun Watson, QB Aidan O’Connell, WR Brandon Aiyuk, WR Chris Godwin and WR Mike Evans all went down with injuries, some season-ending, alongside a number of other players for other teams.
That will give some head coaches a headache, not just heading into NFL Week 8, but also on every other NFL Week of the regular season and beyond.
These and pre-existing injuries may have a significant impact on how teams approach the trade market in the coming weeks before the November 5th deadline.

NFL Week 7 Trades and Rumours
The trade market is buzzing with activity as teams look to strengthen their rosters. NFL Week 7 saw the action heat up for a number of teams.
The Detroit Lions are exploring options to replace Aidan Hutchinson, considering potential edge rushers available for trade. This move could bolster their defense and help maintain their competitive edge. Maxx Crosby of the Las Vegas Raiders and Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns have been named as potential targets.
The Tennessee Titans miserable start has prompted a significant change of personnel. WR D’Andre Hopkins has been traded to the Kansas City Chiefs for a current fifth but also a provisional fourth round draft pick. Meanwhile linebacker Ernest Jones, who the Titans only acquired in the summer from the Rams, has been traded to the Seattle Seahawks for LB Jerome Baker and a fourth round draft pick.
Wide Receivers could be in demand after a number of star receivers went down with lengthy or season-ending injuries in the last few weeks and particularly on NFL Week 7. Los Angeles Rams WR Cooper Kupp is believed to be one on the trading block with the San Francisco 49ers perhaps interested.

NFL Week 8 Bye Week Teams
NFL Week 7 Power Rankings
- Kansas City Chiefs (1) 6-0 – Comfortably beat the 49ers on the road. Still the team to beat. Is the Three-peat on?
- Detroit Lions (3) 5-1 – Outstanding win over the Vikings which takes them top of the ultra-tough NFC North.
- Minnesota Vikings (2) 5-1 – Ran Detroit close but couldn’t beat the Lions, but this is a team on the up.
- Baltimore Ravens (5) 5-2 – Five wins in a row now. The Ravens have woken up and should push on from here.
- Washington Commanders (6) 5-2 – The Commanders are the surprise team of the year. However the injury to their QB could be a worry.
- Green Bay Packers (10) 5-2 – Packers look solid after a fine win over Houston. Don’t rule them out especially if they reach the playoffs.
- Buffalo Bills (9) 5-2 – An easy win for the Bills against the dismal Titans. They look back on song after a poor couple of weeks.
- Houston Texans (4) 5-2 – Pushed the Packers hard in Green Bay but fell just short. The Texans are comfortably the best team in the AFC South.
- Pittsburgh Steelers (12) 5-2 – Steelers offense woke up with Russell Watson at QB. They could rise rapidly up the rankings if he continues the form shown this week.
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7) 4-3 – On their day, the Bucs are great, but they can also throw in a poor display just as easily. Injuries hit their WR corps hard this week.
