NFL Season 2022/23 Preview – Seattle Seahawks

Formed in 1974, the Seattle Seahawks are one of the younger NFL franchises and one of the few to have played in both the AFC and the NFC.

Pete Carroll led the NFC West team to their only Super Bowl triumph in 2013 but is now set to help rebuild the team following the departure of a number of veteran players such as Bobby Wagner, Earl Thomas, Richard Sherman and Russell Wilson in recent times.

Formerly owned by Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen, who has put the team in trust, they kick off the season against the Denver Broncos.

Seattle Seahawks – Strengths

• Solid draft has plugged some very obvious holes in the Seahawks offense and defense
• Few teams have a better WR 1-2 than Metcalf and Lockett with solid back-ups behind them.
• Solid defensively against the run.
• Excellent on Special Teams last season.  

Seattle Seahawks – Weaknesses

• The loss of QB Russell Wilson to the Broncos, while expected, is a huge blow for the Seahawks, Geno Smith is a big drop off in talent.
• The secondary still looks fragile and the Seahawks gave up the second most passing yards in the NFL last season.
• Playing in one of the toughest divisions in the NFL.
