The reigning AFC West and Super Bowl Champions will start their new season against the team ranked as the most likely to succeed them, but after a very solid pre-season, the Los Angeles Rams should be raring to go.

Formed in 1936, the Rams have been one of the most nomadic teams in the NFL, starting their life in Cleveland in 1936, before moving to Los Angeles 10 years later, allowing the Cleveland Browns to take their place. But in 1994, the team were on the move once again, this time to St. Louis in Missouri.

After 12-years in St. Louis, the team moved back to Los Angeles in 2016 and they are the only team to win either the Super Bowl (or early equivalent) for three different cities (Cleveland, St. Louis and Los Angeles).

Los Angeles Rams – Strengths

  • Great depth at wide receiver and a very under-rated tight end. Matt Stafford finally has the weapons available to hurt any team.
  • Rams are very good on both offensive and defensive lines, linebacking corps is underrated too.
  • Aaron Donald is a difference maker for the team. Routinely beats double and triple teams.

Los Angeles Rams – Weaknesses

  • Von Miller’s absence will be felt in the pass rushing game in particular.
  • Rams offense is built on giving Stafford time. Teams that can pressure the QB can do well against the Rams.
  • Still a little inconsistent at times, losing games you would not expect them to.

Season Predictions & Top Betting Picks For The Los Angeles Rams

  • Regular Season Record Prediction – 13-4
  • Playoffs? – Yes
  • Super Bowl Winning Odds – 11/1
  • Conference Champion Odds – 9/2
  • Divisional Winner Odds – 27/20
  • Best Player on Offense – Cooper Kupp (WR)
  • Best Player on Defense – Aaron Donald (DE)
  • Best Rookie – Logan Bruss (OG)
  • Surprise Of The Season – The Rams to be even stronger than when they won the Super Bowl last season.

The Rams have made plenty of right moves in the off-season, getting Cooper Kupp on a long-term deal was one, signing Aaron Donald to a new contract was huge. Only Von Miller has left that impressive defense but the Rams have made some solid roster and draft moves to cope with that and this team looks well set to run the rule over the NFC West for a good few years yet.
