Tyreek Hill may have moved on to the Miami Dolphins, but Patrick Mahomes still has plenty of potent weapons available to him as the Kansas City Chiefs QB and while they will miss Hill, Andy Reid’s offense is not built solely upon their former wide receivers prodigious talents.

More problematic for the Chiefs may be replacing Tyrann Mathieu at safety, with the former Chiefs star now back home in New Orleans. They have made moves to do precisely that, but there’s still a feeling that the defense may be the Chiefs weak point, especially in this tough division.

However, the Chiefs can outscore any team, as they proved against the Bills in the playoffs last season, but they won’t want to have to go to the well too often in the super-tough AFC West.

Kansas City Chiefs – Strengths

  • Still one of the most dangerous and potent offenses in football and as Mahomes matures, he is only getting better at leading the offense.
  • George Karlaftis could well be a perfect Edge rusher to play alongside the destructive Frank Clark and Chris Jones.

Kansas City Chiefs – Weaknesses

  • The Chiefs have lost a number of key players this post-season and it remains to be seen how that affects the balance of the team and the leadership of groups, especially on defense.
  • The defense showed plenty of weakness at times last season, they need to step up despite perhaps not being as strong as they were last year.

Season Predictions & Top Betting Picks For The Kansas City Chiefs

  • Regular Season Record Prediction – 10-7
  • Playoffs? – Yes
  • Super Bowl Winning Odds – 10/1
  • Conference Champion Odds – 5/1
  • Divisional Winner Odds – 8/5
  • Best Player on Offense – Patrick Mahomes (QB)
  • Best Player on Defense – Chris Jones (DT)
  • Best Rookie – George Karlaftsis (EDGE)
  • Surprise Of The Season – The Chiefs to miss Tyreek Hill much more than experts are predicting with their new-look WR corps struggling early on in the campaign.

The Chiefs defense will struggle against some of the quality offenses in this division now and that means Kansas City may just scrape through into the playoffs this year.
