Horseracing BetStars

With the Cheltenham Festival making the headlines this week in the wonderful world of horseracing, there’s some massive news for Bet Stars sportsbook fans as the site has finally started to Betstars Horsesoperate a horseracing betting service.

When we reviewed the Bet Stars sports book a while back, the only really major fault we could find with the service was its lack of horseracing betting for punters. However, recently the site has undergone a major overhaul and once that update was complete, Bet Stars punters found a new option was now available on their service.

Horseracing had arrived at BetStars.

What does Bet Stars Horse Racing betting offer?

When you click on the Horseracing tab, the home screen loads up and there are four different pages available which you can access by clicking the tabs at the top of the page. These are:

  • Highlights
  • Meetings
  • Future
  • Results

Let’s take a look at each of these in more detail.

Highlights Tab

BetStars HorsesThe highlights tab is what is loaded up when you first access the horseracing betting options on the main screen. The highlights features a list of the top horse races and meetings of the day with top races and meetings featured.

For example, at the time of writing, the Cheltenham Festival is taking place, so all the key races in this four day festival are playing a prominent role in what is on offer on the highlights tab.

Also listed are the Top Coupons for the biggest races of the day and underneath this are the Meetings that are scheduled to take place on the day (though you can also see meetings scheduled for the day after too on the Tomorrow tab).

To access details of the race, simply click on the race start time to bring up a window with information on the runners and riders in that particular race.

Meetings Tab

The Meetings tab is essentially the same as what is listed at the bottom of the Highlights tab. Clicking this tab brings up list of meetings taking place today and tomorrow (the default option is always the current days racing).

Simply tick the box next to the race and then click the “Update Card” button that appears to bring up the list of runners and riders taking place in that race.

You can bring up additional information on a runner by clicking the Graph tab in the section detailing the age, weight, form, jockey and trainer of the horse. This gives you detail on the horses pedigree, comments about the horse as well as more detailed information about its latest form and in-race performances.

Future Tab

The future tab offers you the chance to look at the potential runners and riders for races taking place beyond the next 48 hours. These tend to be the bigger race events, although at theBetStars Horseracing moment, you can only bet on races taking place within the next week or so.

This is a good option if you are keen on ante post betting and like to place bets on horses before the pre-race markets open on the day of the race.

I would expect this section to grow considerably with odds offered on big races taking place several months from now (Grand National, The Derby, Breeders Cup, Melbourne Cup etc) over the coming weeks and months.

Results Tab

As the name suggests, this is the place to find the results of the days racing, although you can find results from earlier days racing by using the calendar to search through the database and bring up results of races that have taken place several days or weeks ago.

The details shown include the top three horses home in each race together with the jockey, trainer, and the starting price of the horses that finished in the top three. Any non-runners are also displayed together with any Rule 4 deductions in place for that race.

Can I use the Spin & Bet feature with horseracing bets?

Yes, you can use the Spin & Bet feature on selected horse races and meetings. When available, you can place a To Win or Each Way bet on a selection in a race and use the Spin & Bet feature to potentially see your odds increase up to 10 times more than stated.

So if you back a horse at 5/1 to win a race, use Spin and Bet (which costs 10% of your stake) and you hit the 10x feature, you will be paid out at 50/1 if your selection wins.

This is certainly a significant upgrade for the Bet Stars site and for the first time the site now offers a fulsome horseracing betting service to customers. The site is already packed with features, although we’d expect a few more to be announced in the coming weeks and months. Bet Stars has certainly raised the stakes with its new upgrade and punters, in general, will be delighted with the offer.
