The slot has been designed to have a somewhat creepy, green and black main ambiance. Although the symbols on the reels remain colourful and easy to distinguish between.
Unusually, the slot features a standard base game and a Fortune Spins base game option. The standard base game offers lower value and mid-value wins from landing the symbols on pay lines.
But in the Fortune Spins option, all symbols are removed from the reels apart from the Wild symbols, the Scatter or Bonus symbol and the Mixed Pays symbol.
You can select the Fortune Spins base game at any point when playing the game.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat – Main Base Game
The main base game on the Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat slot plays as your typical 5×3 medium variance slot.
There are a series of lower value playing card symbols on the reels (10, J, Q, K and A) and alongside these lower paying options are the higher value symbols.
Wins range from 0.5x to 10x your bet stake using the lower value symbols.
Amongst those symbols are a police car, bags of candy, money, a police light and the trick or treat symbol.
You can win from 0.5x to 200x your bet on the higher paying symbols.
The Candy Bag symbols are mixed pay symbols and when you land a win they can award you a win of 1x to 20x your stake, based on how many Candy Bag symbols are in a line.
Note, the cash amounts shown on the Candy Bag symbols are not awarded in the main base game, but they do come into effect in the main bonus feature of the slot.
Wild Symbols
There are two Wild symbols on the reels in the main base game; the red robber, and the blue robber. These can appear anywhere on the reels and can be used to create winning lines with the standard symbols.
Scatter/Bonus Symbol
To trigger the Trick or Treat bonus feature, you need to land three of the Scatter symbols, sometimes called bonus symbols, anywhere on the reels. Depending on how many you land, you will trigger the bonus game, complete with the stated starting multiplier for your bonus as outlined below.
- 3 Pumpkin Bonus Symbols – 1x starting multiplier.
- 4 Pumpkin Bonus Symbols – 2x starting multiplier.
- 5 Pumpkin Bonus Symbols – 3x starting multiplier.
Obviously, the bigger the starting multiplier when your bonus round begins, the more likely it is you will win more cash when playing through the bonus feature.
But before we take a closer look at the bonus, let’s first examine how the other playable base game on the Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat slot works.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat – Fortune Spins Base Game
The Fortune Spins option is a different version of the base game. With this option all the symbols are removed from the reels apart from the Scatter symbol, the Robber Wild symbol and the Candy Bag symbols.
In this version of the game, you trigger wins by landing the Candy Bag symbols alongside the robber wild symbol.
However, in Fortune Spins, the robber is ‘unlocked’ which means that you win the amount shown in each Candy Bag.
Furthermore, if you land two or more of the Wild Robbers on the reels, you win the total amount of each Candy Bag once per Wild Robber.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat – Trick or Treat Bonus Game
The Trick or Treat bonus is the main feature of the slot game and when triggered, it offers a unique bonus game.
You do not receive a set number of free spins. Instead, you play a game where the aim is to move your robber along the multiplier trail, increasing the multiplier that will be applied to your total wins in this bonus feature.
In addition, the robber will also appear on the reels and each time you land a Candy Bag, that amount will be collected by the robber and he will also move one space along the multiplier trail.
There is also another new Wild on the reel in this round and that is the Cop. A cop acts as a standard Wild on the reels to help create wins, but when you land a Cop wild, the Cop moves along the multiplier trail too.
Obviously, you want the robber to remain ahead of the cop and advance along the multiplier trail as far as possible, while collecting wins on the reels, in order to increase the value of your bonus game win.
When the Cop catches the robber on the trail, the game moves on to the ID Parade feature, which will determine whether the bonus continues or not.
ID Parade Feature
The ID Parade feature decides whether the Trick or Treat bonus round will end or whether you will continue playing.
In the ID Parade section, your caught robber (Bert) stands accused with two other characters, Sid and Vic, in a court.
The policeman from the bonus game will then ID one of the suspects in the case. If he selects the character Bert, then the bonus feature ends. You are then paid out what you have won on the bonus with the multiplier applied.
However, if any of the other two characters are selected then the bonus game continues.
If Sid is highlighted then the cop is moved back two positions on the multiplier trail. The bonus game will continue from that point, offering you the chance to win more money.
But if he selects Vic then Bert the robber will be moved along the multiplier trail to the next multiplier. The bonus feature will restart from this point.
This is the main feature of the Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat slot, but it is not the sole feature.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat – Spin Chance Feature
One unusual feature is the Spin Chance feature. This only kicks in when your credits drop down to an amount that is below the current stake for a single spin.
When this happens, you will be offered the chance to spin a wheel. If you are successful, you will get another spin on the game at the original stake. But if you lose, then you will lose the rest of your credit balance.
This is one of two Gamble options, the second of which is available throughout the game.
Cops ‘n’ Robbers Big Money Trick or Treat – Gamble Option
The Gamble feature in the slot can be switched off completely. Or it can be set to trigger when you have a win of 5x your stake or greater, or on any win.
When the Gamble feature is enabled, after a triggering win, you are presented with two wheels. On each you can use the + and – buttons to scroll through the different options open to you.
The first wheel allows you to gamble your winnings. Here you can double your money, win half of your money, or a third of your money or lose it. The green sector, signifying a win, grows or shrinks depending on which of the options you select.
The other wheel allows you to try and trigger the Trick or Treat bonus feature in the gam. But this tends to offer a smaller chance of success than the other gambling wheel.
There is a green collect button which is available where you can cash out your winnings at any time.
Players are free to use the Gamble features, or not, at any point during their session playing the game.
