Last season, Liverpool played 19 times at Anfield and they won an incredible 17 of those games, drawing the other two. The only teams to come to Anfield and earn a point for their efforts were Champions Manchester City (who earned a 0-0 draw) and Leicester City, who picked up a 1-1 draw in a stormy night in the early months of 2019.

Ex-defender Harry Maguire scored the Foxes goal that night, cancelling out Sadio Mane’s opener for Liverpool and this season, the Foxes have begun very strongly to sit third in the table, despite having a number of tough games in the opening weeks. However, they still trail Liverpool by seven points, with the Reds having made a 100% start to the campaign with seven wins from seven games.

These two teams meet on Saturday at Anfield in what should be a cracking game between the teams and in this article, we are going to take a closer look at both teams and then give you our tips on what are the best bets to make on the game.

Liverpool v Leicester City – Preview and Top Tips

Leicester have an impressive record in the Premier League with only Man City and Liverpool ahead of them in the table, but it is on the back of their home form that they have risen to that position, winning all but one of their home games.

Away from home, they have picked up a win, a draw and lost just the once (to Manchester United) but this test against Liverpool will certainly be the biggest they have faced.

The Reds have not lost a Premier League home game since April 2017, a total of 43 matches but the Reds will be aware that Leicester were one of just two sides that took a point from Anfield last season in a 1-1 draw.

Tip 1- Correct Score – Liverpool 2-1 Leicester City – 8/1 with bet365

Liverpool will have had a Champions League game ahead of this game, but I feel that the fact it is at home, their first home game for a while, will benefit them, rather than hinder them. I expect Leicester to keep things very tight in the game and I expect the Foxes to be right in this until the end, but Liverpool just seem to have a knack of picking up results when they need it.

The result last season will have alerted the Reds to their need to be more clinical in front of goal and I think they will learn from that to pick up a victory and while I can see Leicester finding the net, I can see Liverpool netting a couple in reply to secure the win.

Tip 2 – Scorecast – Liverpool to win 2-1 and Mo Salah to score anytime – 12/1

Mo Salah has saved his best form for Anfield this season and while the Egyptian has been a little out of sorts in recent away games, I expect he will want to get back to scoring ways in front of the Kop. He has netted four times this season in the EPL, the same as Mane, but I feel he is certainly overdue a goal. So if you pair him to score at anytime along with a 2-1 Liverpool win, you get interesting odds of 12/1 with bet365.
