When we first reviewed BetStars upon release, we said that the site showed promise but that in the UK Sports betting industry, it was something of an oversight starting up a sportsbook that Horseracing betting Trixiedidn’t offer horseracing betting alongside the other sports available.

It may have taken the company some time to finally get to grips with the Sport of Kings, but a few weeks back, BetStars finally released their massive horseracing upgrade and now the new Betstars site is certainly up there with the best you can find online in the UK.

What did adding horseracing bring to the BetStars site?

By upgrading their client software to include horseracing betting for all users (including mobile customers), BetStars finally removed the one negative issue that was holding it back compared to all other UK market operating sports books.

However, BetStars didn’t just add a relatively basic horseracing section. The numbers of meetings available to bet on, the betting options available and the odds on offer compare very favourably with betting sites that have been operating this type of betting for many years, both online and offline.

The addition of horseracing betting to the BetStars site has finally given the site the two key elements needed to attract most British punters, a healthy soccer betting market and an equally appealing horseracing betting market, complete with a smattering of other popular sports available to bet on too.

What are the most popular horseracing bets available?

BetStars HorseracingOf course, there are the usual horseracing bets you can make such as backing a horse to win a race, or when there are enough runners, backing it each way in a race.

If you back multiple selections, then you can also place a large number of full cover bets and of course, there is always the option of accumulator betting too. You can also place either of these types of bets each way to increase your chances of a return.

At the moment there isn’t some of the more complicated bets available at BetStars such as Forecast or Tricast bets, or Banker bets or similar. It will be interesting to see if over time, BetStars increases the number of different bets available on horseracing to match its competitors in the industry.

Can I place Antepost (Futures) bets with BetStars on horseracing?

Yes, one of the most pleasing aspects of the new BetStars upgrade for horseracing was that it gave punters the chance to engage in some robust betting on future markets. Ante-post betting is always popular in the UK as punters take a calculated risk backing a horse to win a race many months in advance, but knowing that on the day, if the horse continues to show the form it has, it could be a much, much shorter price.

To see the full list of Future markets for horseracing all you need to do is click on the Future tab and then the Horse Racing tab. This will display a list of future races from both the National Hunt and Flat racing seasons. Click on the race you are interested in and a potential list of winners will be displayed which you can back to win that race for the stated price.

There are a significant number of huge races you can back horses to win available on the site including the Epsom Oaks and Epsom Derby, as well as the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day, the 2017 Cheltenham Gold Cup and 2017 Grand National.

Does BetStars offer any horseracing promotions?

Yes they do but this is an aspect of the site that perhaps is ripe for improvement. At the moment, you can get regular “Bet Bundles” with BetStars, which offers you enhanced odds on a selection BetStars Horseracing Offersof horses to win their respective races (often including short priced favourites)

However outside of these bets, the only other offers available tend to be ad-hoc offers available for selected races or selected meetings. There are no longer term offers, such as a Best Price Guarantee (although you can opt to take the Starting Price rather than the odds available at the time of betting, when placing a bet, if you so wish).

In terms of promotional material, BetStars horseracing is still lacking a little compared to some other sites, but as we have seen with the promotional offers now available for other sports, it is something that BetStars are likely to be working on and looking to improve quickly and easily,
