With the first pre-season testing session at Barcelona under way this week and just a month until the very first race of the 2016 season in Melbourne Australia, now seems a good time to have a F1 Bettingquick peek at what the coming season holds for F1 fans on BetStars sportsbook.

What lies ahead for F1 fans?

This season is very much one to see whether the chasing pack can close the gap, or even surpass the dominant Mercedes team and the team’s main driver Lewis Hamilton, who has been World Champion in the past two seasons.

Initial reports from Barcelona are that Ferrari’s much vaunted new car may well pose the biggest threat to Mercedes this coming season, however Mercedes too enjoyed a superb first day of practice registering over 120 laps in their new car, showing their famed reliability once again.

The season kicks off in Australia on the 20th March and then has a further 20 races spread throughout the calendar and across the globe until the final race of the season on the 27th November in Abu Dhabi.

There’s a new race on the calendar this year with the European Grand Prix taking place on the 19th June on the Baku City Circuit in Azerbaijan.

The season is split roughly into two unequal sections with the first 12 races taking place from March through to the 31st July, there is then a month’s break before action resumes on the 28th August in Belgium progressing through until the final race in November.

Can Nico Rosberg or Sebastian Vettel topple Hamilton as the top driver in F1 this season? Will Ferrari, Red Bull or Williams or maybe another team topple Mercedes? All will be discovered over the coming months.
