Premier League Returns This Weekend And Here’s Our Preview and Tips

After a short break of a week, the Premier League returns after the Euro 2020 qualifiers and it is back with a massive game at Anfield on Sunday as league leaders Liverpool take on Tottenham knowing that by kick off on Sunday, they could well be back in second place in the table with Manchester City taking on Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday. There’s a full selection of games this weekend in the Premier League and that includes a number of other key clashes at the top and bottom of the table, with plenty of teams still having lots to play for as we reach the business end of the season when Champions League places and relegation issues are finally sorted once and for all.

EPL Preview and Tips

  • Fulham v Manchester City
Fulham (19th) – LLLLL Man City (2nd) – WWWWW As you can see, Fulham are at a huge disadvantage coming into this game. Scott Parker is yet to record a win since taking over and despite pushing Liverpool hard at home last time out, they now face an even bigger task against a Manchester City side in superb form heading into this game. Pep Guardiola’s team are sweeping pretty much all before them and it is hard to see how they can fail to win here. City should win this one comfortably and they are unbackable in the Full Time Result market at 1/7 on, hence I would bet on a 3-1 win for Manchester City which is an 11/1 shot at bet365.
  • Brighton v Southampton
Brighton (15th) – WWLLD Southampton (16th) – WLWLL Both of these teams are sitting in an uncomfortable position in the league table, especially with Cardiff City winning their last game. Both these teams also recorded wins in their games before the international break and as a south coast derby, it should be a cracking encounter. Brighton don’t tend to lose an awful lot of these games against bottom table teams and I can’t see them losing here but having said that I think Southampton can do enough to secure a point. As such, I think betting on the draw at 11/5 with bet365 is the best option.
  • Burnley v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Burnley (17th) – LLLLW Wolves (7th) – DWLDD Burnley have had a tough run of games just at the time they would have least wanted it, especially with Cardiff City now breathing down their neck below them in the table. Sean Dyche is a good manager but he will be up against it here against a Wolves side who are in great form at the moment, especially in the FA Cup. This will not be an easy game for the home side, but I am backing them to pick up a point from it as I am backing the draw here at 11/5.
  • Crystal Palace v Huddersfield Town
C.Palace (14th) – LWLWD Huddersfield (20th) – LLLWL Huddersfield did earn a surprise win in the game before last but in truth, they have not been able to put together a sustained run of results all season long, which is why they are nailed to the bottom of the Premier League table. Crystal Palace have hardly been the model of consistency either but they are a much better side than the visitors and even if they don’t hit their best form, they should still do more than enough to claim a win here. A Palace win is just 1/2 at bet365, so instead I would suggest backing Palace to win and both teams to score, which is a 3/1 shot.
  • Leicester City v Bournemouth
Leicester (10th) – WWLWL Bournemouth (12th) – DWLLD With Brendan Rodgers seemingly having a positive effect at the helm, Leicester City fans will be approaching this game with inconsistent Bournemouth in a positive frame of mind and sitting in the top half of the table. Bournemouth have struggled for consistency this season but they can prove to be a tough opponent for any side, though less so on the road. As such, I fancy Leicester to get the job done here and I’m backing them to win at 4/5.
  • Manchester United v Watford
Man Utd (5th) – LWWDW Watford (8th) – LWLWW Despite losing to Arsenal last time out, Manchester United’s recentstadium 918830 640 form in the Premier League is generally excellent and they’ll want to get back to winning ways at home to Watford, another side who have enjoyed relatively strong recent performances. Javi Gracia’s team have surprised a few this season with how consistent they have been and they deserve their place in the top half of the table. That said, I expect this to be a tough trip for them and with United being too short for me to back in the Match Result market, I’m instead going to back United to win this one 2-1, which is 7/1 with bet365.
  • West Ham United v Everton
West Ham (9th) – WLWLW Everton (11th) – WLDWL The final game on Saturday is a mid-table clash between two sides who probably would have hoped for a little more this season, given the significant investment in players they made in the summer. West Ham’s recent form is marginally better than Everton’s and they do have home advantage here. However, the Toffee’s away form has been better than their home of late and so I am expecting them to give the Hammers a real game here. This should be a close one but I am backing West Ham to land the win at 29/20.
  • Cardiff City v Chelsea
Cardiff (18th) – WLLLW Chelsea (6th) – LDWWL Cardiff managed a win in their last game whereas Chelsea suffered another defeat under Mauricio Sarri and although the Londoners won’t be in the best frame of mind heading into this game, I still feel that they should have too much for Cardiff. Neil Warnock’s men have battled hard to stay in contention to stay up but they have struggled against the top six sides and I can see that continuing here. Back Chelsea to win and both teams to score which is a 21/10 option at bet365.
  • Liverpool v Tottenham Hotspur
Liverpool (1st) – WWDWD Tottenham (3rd) – LDLLW This game last season produced a VAR-influenced classic with plenty of controversy and drama at the end of the game. Liverpool fans will want a degree of revenge for their last gasp draw with Spurs last season when a dubious VAR decision robbed them of the win. Spurs recent form, especially away from home, is very poor but they do have Kane and Alli back now and I expect them to give Liverpool a stern test. The Reds though will know nothing less than a win will do and I am backing them to earn that here. Back Liverpool to win and both teams to score at 21/10.
  • Arsenal v Newcastle United
Arsenal (4th) – WDWWW Newcastle (13th) – DWLWW The Gunners come into this game in good form, but they face a Newcastle side who have had just one loss in their last five and who have risen up the table sharply as a result. The Toon Army have not been heavily beaten on the road all season long and while I do expect Arsenal to win the game, I think Rafa Benitez’s team will make it tough for the Gunners. I don’t expect to many goals in this Monday Night Football clash so I am going to back Arsenal to win the game and both teams to score – no, which is an 11/8 shot with bet365.
