Bet365 Poker Steps Tournaments explained

Just over a year ago now, we looked at Bet365 Poker’s Steps Tournament promotion and how it was structured and how winning it could earn you a seat in the weekly $200,000 Sunday Special.

As Led Zeppelin once sang, that could have been your ‘Stairway to Heaven’, especially if you had managed to land one of the big prizes, which often ran to around $50,000 every week.

However, all things must come to an end and Bet365 decided to revamp their Steps promotion somewhat and the result is a brand new style of competition that offers a slightly more flexible reward.

Remember, you can only access these offers if you are a member of Bet365 Poker. For all the latest Bet365 Poker bonus codes, to ensure you take full advantage of any sign up offer, or indeed the Steps Promotion, take a look at our reference page which we have linked to above.

So how does the new style Steps Promotion now look and how does it differ from the old? Let’s find out.

The old Steps Promotion

Before the promotion was updated, the Steps Promotion on Bet365 Poker was a seven-step pathway leading to the user receiving a buy in worth £215 into the weekly $200,000 Sunday Special poker tournament.

You could start at Step One for as little as $0.16 and one or more players who lasted longest in the tournament would win a prize of a token into the next step of the tournament. Other prizes such as a tournament token for the current step level, or cash prizes were also handed out to players finishing in lower positions.

The problem with this promotion was that it was somewhat inflexible. Players who were the Step Seven winner received a tournament token to the next $200,000 Sunday Special tournament, regardless of whether they wanted to play in it or not.

So in order to allow players more flexibility, Bet365 have tweaked the format of the promotion.

The new and updated Bet365 Poker Steps Promotion

The first thing to note about the Bet365 Poker Steps Promotion is that it runs in the same way as the previous version. You can enter at any ‘step’ level, provided you are willing to pay the buy in (or have a tournament token earned from aBet365 New Steps Promotion previous step).

The prizes available vary depending on each step and these will be explained in more detail below. The first thing to note however is that there is a slight change to the structure of the new Steps Promotion in that there are now EIGHT steps to be completed and the minimum buy in at Step 1 level has increased from $0.16 to €0.50.

In addition the prize for the winner of the final Step 8 of the promotion has also changed. Instead of receiving a tournament token to the next $200,000 Sunday Special tournament, if you manage to win the top prize at Step 8 then you will receive a tournament token worth €150, which can be used for any tournament of that price or lower.

There is also the choice of playing in 6-seater and 4-seater tournaments, but the prizes on offer in each are slightly different as shown in the structure outlined below

The format of the tournament is as follows:

If you want to take part in the Bet365 Poker Steps Tournament then finding the competition is easy. Once you have loaded up the Bet365 Poker software and logged in, scroll down the available poker games until you see the Steps Promotion tab. Clicking on this will bring up the list of steps competitions available, both four and six-seater games for each step in the competition.

One of the best things about this offer is that like many of the best Bet365 promotions across all its sites, this is not a limited time offer. You can log into your Bet365 Poker account and play in the Steps promotion at any time of the day or week.

Remember too, you don’t have to start at Step One to participate in the event, you can skip steps provided you are willing to pay the higher buy in.

Steps tournament play offers players a good chance at a reward and progression especially in the early stages where there are a few fish around, however as the tournament progresses and you climb through the steps, you find the competition does get tougher. So while it is difficult, it is not impossible to turn a €0.50 buy in, into a €150 value tournament token.
